So awesome! I went as a solo traveler but ended up being included in an amazing group that was so supportive of each other - it’s almost like the environment just beings everyone together to accomplish this. It was amazing! I was worried about not being fit enough for this but made it all the way to the summit! It was definitely a work out but was so fun at the same time. Our guide (Yas? Idk how to spell his name) was amazing and so helpful! Highly recommend! If I ever make my way back to WV I will totally do this again and again

Go do this! An amazing route that is both mentally and physically challenging. It is well organized and well managed. Our guide, Anthony, did a fabulous job managing a group with very different fitness and skill levels.
Helpful tips: the hike up is easy compared to the hike down. If you don’t do well on rocky descents, pack a collapsible hiking pole in your pack. Base fitness is enough for most of the trip, but more upper body strength is needed for the optional climb (if you can’t do a pull up or a chin up, you might want to give this part a pass). When I do this again, I would pack more small snacks: there are 3 stops where putting down a quick granola bar is good. Wear sunscreen! If you wear progressive lens glasses, it can tire your eyes out pretty quick as you are constantly shifting your focus.
Don’t expect to be “cardio workout tired” from this, but expect to be physically and mentally fatigued. Expect to want to do this again! I already do!!

Our guide Anthony and the rest of the staff were fantastic! We started with a fast-paced walk/hike to the start of the Via Ferrata, definitely be ready for some adrenaline. It was my first time doing a Via Ferrata, and it got a bit scary and exposed at times, but the views made it totally worth it. The suspension bridge moves a lot! The hike down was also very fast paced and rocky, so watch your knees. The whole experience took about four hours, and the 3 PM tour was perfect since there was some shade.
Also, the guest rooms are clean, small and have everything you need for an affordable price.

My family had a great time with the zip. Chris, Justin and Anthony were great!
Went back on 9/1 for the via ferrata. Had a great time - our guide Andre was great getting us thru everything.

We had a fantastic time on the Via Ferrata at NROCKS. Our group of five had no rock climbers, and the route was the perfect mix of challenging and doable — we all felt like we accomplished something. Our guide, Yav, was patient, encouraging, and made sure we felt safe and confident every step of the way. The safety briefing struck the right balance: clear and thorough without being too long or dull.
The scenery was absolutely stunning as we traversed two massive vertical fins of rock. The suspension bridge was a thrill, but the real highlight was the optional climb to the very top of the second fin — the views up there were unforgettable. The entire process was smooth and well-run from start to finish. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an adventurous and unique way to explore West Virginia.

Via Ferrata was the amazing adventure I didn't know I wanted! Guides were super, Lola did a great job with our group and folks of varying capabilities. We were delayed by a thunderstorm, but they were able to accommodate us later in the day. Highly recommend, being on top of the spines (headwall) was spectacular.

Amazing experience! So well managed and everyone was super nice! Always felt safe and like I was in really good hands. SHOUT OUT TO OUR GUIDE LOLA!! At first we weren’t sure we’d be able to go because of thunder. But after a wait, we got to do the whole route, even though there was a bit of rain at the end. I 100% recommend going! Don’t wait to experience this seriously unique adventure. Best via ferrata I’ve ever done!

Fantastic trek, Jasmine was an amazing guide. The mental challenge was worse than the physical. 10/10 would recommend. Make sure to bring plenty of water and and a way to carry it.

It is truly an exhilarating experience. Knowledgeable and friendly guides, excellent safety procedures and of course, spectacular views! I went and did the Canopy Tour on the first day and stayed in the lodge on site. My room in the lodge was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view from the porch, overlooking the mountains. I did the Via Ferrata the next day which was a fabulously unforgettable experience. If you enjoy the outdoors and always want to try climbing, I recommend this 100%!

What a great time. I'm sure not for everyone but if you are into adventure, hiking or guided climbing this might be your next bucket list item. My wife and I enjoyed every minute of it. Our guide was amazing and the views were wonderful. Look at the photos and you'll know if it's for you or not and if you're still not sure, they provided us exits from the main trail if we were unable to continue. So no excuses!

I was really looking forward to my experience at NROCKS, but it turned out to be incredibly frustrating and disappointing — and I never even got to do the activity itself.
The via ferrata was advertised as “moderate” difficulty, but the hike up to the starting point was extremely demanding and set at a pace I simply could not keep up with. I’m 5’1” and in good physical shape as a rower, but despite pushing myself as hard as I could, I reached my breaking point before even beginning the course.
It was over 90 degrees the day of my tour, and between the intense physical exertion, the heat, and carrying two quarts of water, I started feeling dizzy and developed a pounding headache. I physically couldn’t continue — not because I was discouraged, but because I genuinely couldn’t breathe or safely push through. I take medication that makes me more sensitive to heat, which made the conditions even tougher.
There was no effort to accommodate different paces; I was left behind twice, with no one adjusting or checking in. After having to bow out, I received no refund or any gesture of goodwill. To add insult to injury, the guide suggested I just drive to a scenic overlook—an activity requiring no exertion—which felt dismissive.
When I asked if tours are ever canceled due to heat, the guide said “no”—never. He also shared that the day before, when it was similarly hot, someone suffered heat exhaustion and was vomiting during the second half of the activity. This is not just uncomfortable; it’s unsafe.
I understand NROCKS is a business, but prioritizing profits over participant safety by never canceling tours in extreme heat is unacceptable. Many people likely pay for experiences they can’t safely complete, which is unfair and dangerous.
Unless you are an experienced climber extremely comfortable with heat, heights, and sustained exertion, I strongly urge caution. NROCKS needs to seriously rethink how it communicates difficulty levels, manages group pacing, and prioritizes participant safety.
EdIT: since posting, they did refund my ticket cost, so I appreciate that. They offered their contact info for me to follow up with them as well.

What a classy place I can already tell by the videos on you tube. I actually booked and needed to change the date within a week of my climb and they changed it for me no question. Brian is the man!!! Thank you guys can’t wait to climb it.
