Highly recommend a stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast. We are local, but wanted a weekend getaway with friends who were visiting from out of town. The accommodations were first class, the hospitality was exceptional and the included breakfasts were superb.

Sweet & Quaint little farmhouse. Tucked away on a country road. Beds are clean & cozy. Very hearty & delicious breakfast! We enjoyed a quick hike on a nearby private trail. Angela is a thoughtful and helpful host. ?

I loved staying at John and Angela's farm. We stayed in the barn loft. I'll be honest I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to sleep. I've slept in old barns from the 1800s and 1900s before and the experience was quite spooky! That was not the case here! It was very peaceful and quiet. I loved watching the sunset and the stars were beautiful at night. Watching the little brown bats fly above was such a lovely sight. The population here hasn't been effected as badly as the rest of the country by white nose fungus. There were few mosquitoes. The ducks and chickens sounds at night were comforting and I quickly adjusted to waking early with the natural alarm clock. Thanks to the little rooster! The breakfast was phenomenal and worth every penny. I enjoyed talking about the history of the farm and getting to know our hosts. The property had a few trails to walk on that were nice. Located just 15 minutes from a grocery store and about 10 minutes from Clendenin. Near by is the Elk River for fishing and Elk River Trail for a leisurely bike ride or hike. 30 minutes from Charleston. We were able to drive to several hiking trails and the New River Gorge Bridge in about an hour. I would recommend staying here. It's worth the experience and hospitality!

5 stars are not enough. Everything about the Country Road House and Berries Bed and Breakfast is warm and welcoming, with a quaint, rustic charm. The scenery is overwhelmingly beautiful. The Cellar House was quite comfortable, and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious. The Borne family were perfect hosts/hostesses. Angela, John, Matt, Sam, and Brooke have truly found their calling in the hospitality field. The Country Road House and Berries Bed and Breakfast will be my first choice of lodging during future visits to the area.

I stayed in the barn loft at The Country Road House. When I booked, I was looking for a unique place to stay while I drove by the area. This was the perfect spot. The barn loft was clean and spacious, Angela was super friendly, and the bed was very comfortable. To my surprise, the outhouse had no odor and was very well kept, while keeping it rustic and historic. The farm was really lovey. I loved visiting the goats on the hill and enjoyed the peace and quiet after the sun went down.I will most definitely be returning.Tip for Travelers: If you like sleeping in a chilly space, the barn loft may not be for you. I would book one of the other two spaces on the farm. The loft is a little warm. (Think Glamping) Or book it in the cooler months for a really unique experience.

My daughter and I had an excellent experience! The hosts were genuinely kind and friendly and solicitous of our comfort (without being at all intrusive). We loved walking along the trails on the property. Very pretty! I was very impressed by the quality of the breakfast Angela prepared for us and especially grateful for how carefully and creatively she addressed my daughter's food allergies. It was delicious!

We didn't stay at the bed and breakfast house. We just came for strawberry picking, but we had a wonderful time! It was fun and relaxing, and the owners were so kind and pleasant. We picked a lot of ripe, delicious berries and played in the creek.

Thank you John and Angela for your great hospitality. The loft was a fun place to stay the night. Very cold though in the evening (but that's what I get for booking in the Fall ) so dress accordingly if you visit during the colder months. I slept fine with my thermals and electric blanket. After the sun went down I was able to project some scary halloween movies on the loft wall so that was fun too! Breakfast the next morning was great and made fresh by John & Angela. I would definitely visit again!

The Innkeepers, Angela and John, are extremely generous and kind. We showed up at 9:30pm unannounced because our car broke down, on our way home to New York. Luckily, they had the Farmhouse available (which is beautiful and quaint) and made us feel at home instantly. Angela and John helped us out with finding mechanics in town to fix our alternator. We stumbled upon this gem by chance and will definitely be staying here the next time we travel from NY to TN and back. Also the quiche we had in the morning was OUTSTANDING. We highly recommend this to anyone, whether just staying for a night along your drive or coming for a weekend getaway.

Breakfast was great, but it would have been nice to have been warned that our tent site was a quarter-mile up a mountain with no vehicle access anywhere near the site. There is a rickety cart on bike tires but the path is too steep for that cart to be much help bringing anything down. Owners laughed at us and decided to go out of town with no one to watch their business while they were away. They are lucky none of us ended up in the hospital because frankly this experience was unsafe, we could have gotten injured or killed, and it would’ve been nice to have some idea what we were getting ourselves into ahead of time.

If you want to get away from the hustle & bustle of city life and relax in a peaceful farm setting, Country Road House and Berries B&B is the perfect place for you. Choose from sitting on the front porch swing and enjoying the fire flys, feeding their two goats, or playing fun games with your kids. You will have a restful sleep in comfortable beds, the best country breakfast you will find anywhere (crispy bacon, pecan waffles, quiche & coffee) and friendly host that will welcome your entire family.
