“I upped this rating to five stars and I'm modifying the review because I've had time to recollect on my time in Charleston and don't remember getting gas here but what I do remember is that there was a kind clerk at this gas station who is a fellow Mortal Kombat fan who kindly complemented me regarding the shirt I was wearing that day and who generously allowed my family to park our car in the gas station's front parking spots so that we could go sightseeing in or around the State Capitol. That is why I'm bumping this place's rating to a five star.”

(less than a minute) Sometimes these kind of troubles are like opening Pandora's box sometimes but it will take a much more complex problem to trip up Jeremy. “I am a Paranormal Investigator and I was on my way to a location that was still quite a few hours away when my oil light came on which was strange due to I always watch my gauges plus before any long trips that I will be alone, my husband(and sometimes myself) will always check everything. He did an oil change, topped off all fluids and I could go on forever. Anyway, I ended up pulling off the next available exit with a gas station and it was an Exxon in Big Chimney, West Virginia. Now it was very early morning due to driving through the night so I pulled in and popped hood to check oil but after checking 4 times, it was showing it was okay plus no smoke, leaks or anything I could see. Decided to go in the store and just grab 2 quarts since this was just the first 7 hours of a long drive and long weekend of investigations. Store was small but well kept and I was tired so I asked the cashier if they carried quarts of oil, she was so friendly and told me yes then showed me right where to go. I knew what I needed but she was sweet enough to say that there are 2 types and I assured her that I knew I needed non-synthetic plus they wouldn't have the normal one we use but in a pinch, you do your best? I grabbed 2 quarts and went to counter while she rang me up, I was amazed that she even provided 2 paper funnels for the oil I purchased. We chatted a bit about why I was out in West Virginia and we talked about some stuff she had going on. Meanwhile, she said hello to every person walking in and seemed to know each one. I'm from New Jersey and I'm not trying to say we don't have nice people but I love how nice people are in a lot of areas I travel. To the management/owner of this Exxon, her name was Chasitie and I have to say that she was a pleasure to talk to, truly cared about what was going on and she was sweet to EVERYONE!! Chasitie is a definite people person and you should be proud to have her as an employee. I've marked this town on my maps because I will be in that area again soon and I will be stopping by to say hi and fuel up. Luckily, it looks like my sensor has gone bad and will be replacing it tomorrow?. I was there on a Saturday morning(have to look at receipt for the time but it was early) and the date was April 6, 2024. Chasitie made my pit stop at Exxon a pleasure and I even have a rewards card now, still need to finish signing up though. As nice as she was and so caring, how could I say no to a rewards card that she explained all about it to me. Thank you Chasitie, I got through the Friday to Monday trip for the 2 West Virginia investigations and I still have my 2 quarts with the disposable paper funnels. You made my day bright and I loved the service.”
“I like the fuel rewards I got regular unleaded for 2.79 a gallon with my rewards points. Usually, no waiting in line and pumps are in good working order. The only complaint I have is the receipt printer at pumps never working. I don't care for location, is not conveniently located.”

“It's 7-11, just as any other you ever been to. Only negative thing is that there are always, no matter what time of day or night, quite a few "aggressive" homeless people that loiter out front of there. They will ask you for $ on the way in and on the way out. Lol, they don't take no for an answer easily lol. I'm just giving you a heads up! Other than that.....it's 7-11”

“It's your typical outdated off interstate
BP / 7-11 serving its intended purpose well. It provides travelers on I79 NB the last opportunity to purchase basic provisions and fuel 24/7.
3 stars would be the rating I'd typically for an establishment that is 30 years outdated for cleanliness is not atrocious but has plenty of room for improvement.
No access to public restrooms (at least during late night hours with the closest rest area being another 25-30 miles further north.
With it being the only opportunity for northbound travelers to fuel up with the next services being in Flatwoods 40-50 mile north is enough to give it an additional 4th star.”
“(After they opened back up, there was a really rude employee, so I stopped going there at all. I'd always go somewhere else, even though it was more inconvenient for me. Hopefully this is in the past though.)The staff lately has been very polite and helpful. I really hope it stays that way! The employees that were rude, I haven't seen there the few times I've been back. I plan to start going back there regularly again.The store is always stocked with about everything you would expect. It's also on the bus route.”
