“I was in town for a night on a work trip that allowed me to bring my road bike along. I planned to do a 90 minute ride in the afternoon before dinner. Nine miles in, I heard a *ping* and shortly thereafter noticed my front wheel wobbling. I stopped and noticed a broken spoke. The shop was closed, but their message said they opened at 10 the next day.

I walked in at 10:15 or so the next morning, and they had me on my way by 10:35 for a very reasonable charge. They were very helpful when I checked out, offering potential ride routes, and going so far as recommending a gym where I could shower after my ride. (I was free until mid-afternoon, but the hotel check out time was noon, so I didn't have time to ride and return for a shower before work.)

Ultimately what I thought was a blown chance to ride turned into a nice recommendation and 35 miles of cruising north of town!
