“I got what I needed and the sale prices were good but I wish the sales people didn’t need to hover around watching me in awkward silence. I’ve been in twice recently and experienced that both times, with different sales staff. Honestly those experiences might deter me from trying to shop local from now on.
Edit in response to the owner’s response: I appreciate that the employees are being helpful and that’s how they are trained. But maybe they can be trained to loosen up a little? Maybe pretend to busy themselves while being nearby (after the initial greeting and asking if they need help of course) or offer some light small talk so it doesn’t feel stiff. As a customer it is uncomfortable having 2-3 pairs of eyes watching your every move in complete silence while you browse. I’m just trying to offer some genuine advice after an uncomfortable shopping experience and I hope this comes off as trying to be helpful rather than simply complaining.”
