I don't like interacting with children in public either, but for some reason they're allowed in the stores.
Well behaved leashed dogs not allowed in a store that sells gear for places you would take your dog is ridiculous.

I called the Brookfield REI Bike Service department and spoke with Remco about the metallic sound I was hearing when I rode my gravel bike. She asked me several questions and we determined that I needed to bring my bike in, which I did. Once at the store, Remco immediately began the process to diagnose the source of the noise. After a few short minutes she determined the source of the noise, a cable. In addition to resolving this problem she informed me that my wheels would need warranty service to meet the manufacturing specifications. My bike was expected to be done within a few days but the service was done in one day!!! I have since ridden my bike and the problem was resolved! Thank you Remco for the great customer service!!!!! We are going on an overland trip in Alaska 4-5 days then onto a ship for a 7 day cruise. We were advised to get some rain gear and water proof shoes. REI Co-Op was recommended. 20 minutes and done!

I was so disappointed at the women's section of this store. They have reorganized since I was last there and it is much smaller than before. The selection of clothes for running was terrible compared to the last time I shopped there. They only had one of a few sizes in popular brands. Of course not my size. They didn't carry the immensely popular sun shirt in another brand. Even their own brand had so few choices it was ridiculous. There was nothing I could try on so nothing I could buy. Tons of yoga clothing though which is not what I think of with REI.

It's a well laid out store, with extremely kind and understanding staff. The prices are to be expected but the quality makes it worth it.
We noticed a seeming lack of kayaking paddles? Despite the store selling kayaks.
They also didn't sell the female specific life vest of astral designs but thankfully my girl likes the other vest just fine.
The biggest issue we personally had, was the sheer number of customers on this particular day (05/17/2025, a Saturday) was completely overwhelming the staff and making it quite difficult to get help in a timely manner. But despite the struggles the staff preformed excellently, and me and my girl were able to get everything we wanted except kayaking paddles.

Lots of outdoor gears and clothing here. Prices are decent and people that work here have a passion for the great outdoor.

Came with a family member to find hiking shoes. Tom, in the shoe department, was super knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly. While the shoes are not particularly fashionable, they are practical.
