“I have regularly needed to visit many post offices over the last 25 years. Mailing packages, buying postage, even finding a last-minute birthday card, and having Lisa in Menomonie make the process so easy has made it, by far, my favorite post office. Have YOU ever worked in a customer service related job? I did for 20-odd years. There are too many days when customers are impatient and downright rude. Yet, the people behind the counter do their best to smile and resolve everything as best they can for the customer. Now imagine being overworked because you are short-handed because of budget cuts and you are sorting mail and dispatching mail carriers, and doing the bookwork, and making sure your employees are doing a good job, and trying to do it all with a positive attitude while getting yelled at for things you most likely have very little control over.

And yet, Lisa still has a big smile on her face and welcomes me when I stop in. I've only been there a dozen times in the 2 years I've lived here, but she recognizes me and we chat a little if there's time and I try to find a way to make her laugh. Why? Because I remember what the hard days feel like, and I think she deserves a break. Thanks for being awesome, Lisa!”
