“The drive from Sturgeon Bay is a bit long. The road in egg harbor is under construction, so the detour takes you out of the way. Julies hotel is wonderful, quiet, and prices were the best in the area. My one issue is that the floors are heated and the temperature doesnt drop under 70 degrees. So middle of winter, I had to use the A/C. I dont like to do that at all.”

“The owners were very gracious hosts and the location of the motel is spectacular. The beds were comfortable, view from the room is great, and they had coffee in the office available each morning. Our seasonal trip to Door County will always start at By the Bay!”

“Absolute gem of a place to stay in Door County. The fenced in dog area was such a bonus. The fire pits were always blazing adding to the nice country view. The room was very comfortable and clean. The owner is so nice and welcoming. We got a bonus of live music one night and she was incredible. Great amenities, great vibes, great place. Even the short wooded walk out back was adorable and lovely.”

“This was a great lodging option for my first visit to Door County. Ephraim is a cute sleepy town. I loved the private water overlook area with chairs. The rooms were good. We enjoyed the hot tub. There is no elevator that I am aware of so keep that in mind for accessibility purposes. Bring quarters and soap if you want to do laundry, though the front desk did have change and soap available to purpose!”

“My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we have no regrets whatsoever! The room was very clean, and the staff were super nice and helpful. Our room was always taken care of while we were gone. The only two things were the door seemed to be off it's position as it was really difficult to close and lock. And one of the lights in the bathroom flickered often, but beyond these it was a wonderful stay. We'll be making this our regular place of stay when we visit Sister Bay!”

“Great place to stay! Rooms are nice and clean and the hotel is great. It is a great location just on the south end of Sister Bay, lots of places to walk to for shopping, food or drinks. And driving to other cities to visit is not too far.”

“Good place. Friendly, efficient staff. Went in autumn, so not much going on. Rooms very clean and roomy. Furniture dated but functional. TVs in every bedroom and main room. Gas fireplace. Fridge, stove, toaster, coffee maker & microwave provided. Good value for the $$ - a two bedroom suite here much cheaper than two individual rooms. Some issues: 1) Need to soundproof the hallway carpet better so you don't hear everyone walking past your room. 2) For some reason the toilets sit about 10 inches off the ground. If you have bad knees like me, you better ask for a disabled room. 3) The thermostats are just a round knob, so the first night is getting up every 2 hours turning it up or down trying to find a comfortable setting - bimetallic electric thermostats are about $12 in bulk - upgrade!Plenty of parking. I will return.”

“This is a great place to stay right around the corner from the famous Al Johnson's restaurant. There is also a great pizza restaurant and coffee house within walking distance.”

“So quiet and beautiful. Rooms is older but very very clean. If you are sitting on the patio it's easy to hear the conversations of people on next patio over. So probably don't share state secrets. Would love to stay again.”

“All the staff is wonderful here. No frills place but such a comforting, homey feel. The grounds are historic and beautiful. Updated while keeping character. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay near Baileys Harbor.”

“Stayed in room 12. Beautiful view of the lake from the balcony. Check-in was quick and easy. The decor in the building and our room was a callback to times gone past with modern amenities. The room was clean and the fireplace and jet tub worked with no issues. Plenty of hot water and good pressure in the shower. Coffee pods for the in room Keurig, cold drinks, popcorn and delicious cookies were available in the lobby of our building. You fill out a card each day indicating what you want for breakfast and the time you want it. Breakfast was delivered on time each morning and was good, nothing fancy but filling enough for a good start to the day. Highly recommend! We have stayed here a couple more times since this initial review. Each time our stay has been wonderful. Staff is friendly, our room is clean and charming. Our breakfast is delivered on time each morning. Can't say enough good things about this place. We will continue to make this our go to accommodations when we visit Door County.”

“My husband and I head to Door County in the off-season for quiet get-aways. Lately, our location of choice is the Edgewater Resort in Ephraim. The rooms are cozy and clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is quiet, but within a short drive of fun shopping, galleries, and restaurants when we want a change of pace. We love everything about our visits and are already planning our next one.”

“Our wedding at the Alpine was a dream come true! Having both grown up in the area, it was important to us to have Door County be a part of our big day. There is no better spot for a lifelong memory and to take in Door County. The venue is unreal with a fantastic view of the bay, gorgeous sunsets, and Door County scenery. The service was top notch from the planning all the way through the event. They put our needs first and there was always someone asking if we needed anything. They made everything so seamless which was very much appreciated during a very busy time. The service, the food, the lodging, and the views all met our expectations and more. We couldn’t be any happier with our decision to have our wedding at the Alpine and we would definitely recommend them to anyone!”
