“Goodwill is such a wonderful place to look for those items you didn't even know you were looking for, and the programs they help support are great examples of how businesses can give back to the community”
“BBB was very helpful to facilitate communication between the business and myself. They ensured my concerns were answered and ultimately my issues were resolved! Many thanks!”
“Took my 3 teens to see “The Nutcracker”. Performance was amazing. You will have amazing views from anywhere you sit in this theater. Drinks were easily and conveniently ordered and waiting for you during intermission.”
“Wow, wow I am just at a loss for words! What an immense blessing this place is! Everything is so clean and all the people here are so nice. There is plenty of food in the general use fridges and pantries and there are free meals at 5 pm. We have really felt at home during this hard time. Thank you Ronald Macdonald House!”
“This place is absolutely amazing, what they do for the community is wonderful. I take many of clients to Father Gene's. Not once have I ever been told I could not just look at the clothing while my clients shop. But I have to say the hispanic receptionist I found to be very rude. Not allowing me to look at the baby clothes. And was told I needed to be registered to look at the clothing! Since when!!!! Thats was a first. Beside her, I find everyone to be kind.”
“The community center has lots of support for families. The family resource center has a open play and some targeted groups as well. It is not a huge place, but there is plenty for kids to do and it's easy to keep track of them. The coffee is hot in the morning, the snacks are stocked, and the staff is very helpful. The dad's group is a great place to chat and discover dad's with similar concerns.”
“I was there for the Black Excellence Awards ceremony. The center is very spacious, the servers were polite and attentive, and the bathroom was very clean. The food was just okay. We had chicken with mixed vegetables and potatoes. The dessert was pound cake, and it was set on the table with the salad. By the time we finished dinner and was ready to eat dessert, the pound cake was starting to get hard. It was less than desirable. During the reception, there was plenty of coffee, but the creamer containers were empty fairly quickly. Needless to say, I didn't get coffee. They had 2 bars in the reception area, so if you didn't get a drink before you head into the dining area, water was at the table. Lastly, there was plenty of parking.”
“LOVE this place. The volunteers are so helpful. Tons of bikes there, helmets, bike racks. Great prices and free service for a year if you purchase a bike there. Awesome place, with a mission to provide bikes to anyone who wants to ride.”
“Absolutely superb experience doing run of show for a non profit annual meeting here last week. The entire staff was so kind and helpful. The space is immaculate, and they have everything you could dream of for having an event run smoothly.”
“This is my favorite spot in the neighborhood! I’ve found some of my favorite shoes here for 3 DOLLARS. And the ladies and the atmosphere are just lovely. ❤️??”
“Absolutely fantastic experience. Staff are so very attentive and patient with all Native American participants. The need of this service is so immense. Kudos to The Hunger Task Force Staff and program.”
“This is a well organized museum the incorporates Milwaukee history with the influx of Jews and their impact on Milwaukee. It reviews the culture they brought with them, how the community has changed over the years. It highlights several community members who have had national, and even global importance, and got there start right here in Milwaukee. We spent almost two hours reading and exploring.”
“This place is amazing. Truly a hidden gem. The effort, talent, and dedication to this hobby shine through! The members were so kind to welcome us in and help our 2-year-old run the train table. Thank you for sharing your love of trains with the community! (While it is free to get in, we left a few dollars in their donation bucket to keep the trains running!)”
“I LOVE this Church! The music is my favorite part!! And they have Spanish speakers there like Jesus! ❤️ and I feel like it is okay to wear sweatpants to this Church! I like that. Come as you are. If you forget to put makeup on or brush your hair that is okay. Come to Love Jesus! Also they have FREE Coffee! Nice!”
“Thank you for make my daughters wedding so memorable. The atmosphere and the food were amazing. The staff was so helpful. It truly is a wonderful venue for a wedding. Great job.”
“Came across this place while looking for something to do in Milwaukee since I’m here for a few days and visiting this place was well with the admission price. Mr. Benson had a wealth of knowledge that he was willing to share. I actually walked in on him talking to a group of local youth.
To me this was more of an exhibit than a typical museum I’m used to visiting; but to learn about the events that happened in Milwaukee that impacted black civil rights nationally was very enlightening. Glad I came and helped support the local preservation of black history!”
“Went for a concert and was surprised how neat this venue was. Very cool looking inside. Bathrooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. They have multiple bars to grab a drink.”
“I attended the flippered friends and family encounter in addition to one of the shows. It was amazing and I would do it again in a heartbeat. The animals are so well cared for, the staff is amazing - Brittany went out of her way for me. The seals and sea lions are so eager and excited to interact and show off all they know. It was one of the best experiences of my life! Ocean Connections is such a great program for helping flippered friends in need.”
“I have been biking since I was 8 and more then likely I will doing it until I'm 108. These people facilitate trails, programs and spearhead initiatives so that are state can can have as many people rolling as possible. I have been a proud member for years and will continue to do so. Become a member yourself and maybe stop on by they have great art.”
“A lot of important work in preserving our city's greenspaces is going on here. The RRF staff are all incredibly friendly and knowledgable. I'd highly recommend volunteering, even if just for a couple hours, you'll gain a much greater appreciation for Milwaukee's rivers and the effort taking place to maintain these areas for everyone's enjoyment.”
“This thrift store is a fave of mine when shopping around for little trinkets. They have a surprisingly large selection of handkerchiefs which you really just don't see much of anymore. The items that are considered vintage are in a separate section and although they are priced a little higher do sometimes go down based on whatever deals may be going on that day/week. I stumbled upon it when driving by one day but have made it a point to stop in if I'm in the area, would definitely recommend checking them out if you're on the hunt for bits and bobbles!”
“I visited for the Trans Health Fair and had a really great time. It's easy to get to D&R off the bus or by car, and the location felt safe. I'm excited to visit again.”
“Staff here are professional, patient and nice. Anna is very nice also, she is the manager I believe. I love the fact they go on field trips every week during the summer. I feel safe taking my kids here as well.”
“Wisconsin Veterans Network, or VetsNet, works with more than 40 different agencies to help veterans and family members in need. They will help any vet, including Reserve or National Guard members, with no red tape or Catch-22s. If you served, they'll help and link you with the services you need. They're veterans themselves and can relate to what you're going through. Don't hesitate to call them or stop in.”
“I really love going to Goodwill stores and either donating or buying items that I need. Prices are great! You may have to dig a little bit to find what you're looking for but it is definitely worth it. I usually stop at a Goodwill store once or twice a month. Wow! The savings are ridiculous. You do have to bring your own bags though because they are not providing them anymore. So I usually have my bags in the back of my car at all times for when I stop in to Aldi's or Goodwill stores. All Goodwill stores are different so try a few out. You might find one that you really like.”
“Wonderful church, extremely nice people. Their motto is:"No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here."So true at this church.”
