The animals are so well cared for, the staff is amazing - Brittany went out of her way for me. The seals and sea lions are so eager and excited to interact and show off all they know. It was one of the best experiences of my life! Ocean Connections is such a great program for helping flippered friends in need.”

“I was there for the Black Excellence Awards ceremony. The center is very spacious, the servers were polite and attentive, and the bathroom was very clean. The food was just okay. We had chicken with mixed vegetables and potatoes. The dessert was pound cake, and it was set on the table with the salad. By the time we finished dinner and was ready to eat dessert, the pound cake was starting to get hard. It was less than desirable. During the reception, there was plenty of coffee, but the creamer containers were empty fairly quickly. Needless to say, I didn't get coffee. They had 2 bars in the reception area, so if you didn't get a drink before you head into the dining area, water was at the table. Lastly, there was plenty of parking.”

“The community center has lots of support for families. The family resource center has a open play and some targeted groups as well. It is not a huge place, but there is plenty for kids to do and it's easy to keep track of them. The coffee is hot in the morning, the snacks are stocked, and the staff is very helpful.The dad's group is a great place to chat and discover dad's with similar concerns.”

They offered a welcoming vibe as I walked around.I was looking to see if there was anything that would catch my eye at the moment or if I found something I could use for any future projects.I was happy to have found some components I can use at a respectful price. I am planning on making another visit the next time I am in the area.”

It reviews the culture they brought with them, how the community has changed over the years. It highlights several community members who have had national, and even global importance, and got there start right here in Milwaukee. We spent almost two hours reading and exploring.”

“This thrift store is a fave of mine when shopping around for little trinkets. They have a surprisingly large selection of handkerchiefs which you really just don't see much of anymore. The items that are considered vintage are in a separate section and although they are priced a little higher do sometimes go down based on whatever deals may be going on that day/week. I stumbled upon it when driving by one day but have made it a point to stop in if I'm in the area, would definitely recommend checking them out if you're on the hunt for bits and bobbles!”

“I have been driving past this place forever and a day looking at the public is welcome sign so my first attempt to stop by had a bad sign, every spot in the lot was taken and it's a big lot. What I didn't know is they have a banquet hall and the bar might have had a seat for me. It's a regulars crowd and a medium size bar with a game room on the side with hi tables. Joanie was working and was super friendly with the locals giving her crap but she was a trooper. This is the best kept secret in Milwaukee because it's the cheapest bar to drink in with beer bottles and rail drinks starting at $2.50, my Gin Rickey was $2.50 to my amazement and I can't remember the last time I paid $2.50 for a cocktail. The crowd was diverse, dah cheap drinks. The food is frozen pizza, chicken strips and various breads like garlic bread. If you want bang for your drinking dollar than this is the place to go.”

“I love the one person per bin rule, and that no one can shop the new bins until they're all in place and an employee gives the go-ahead to shop.A lot of resellers shop here. They hustle, but they are not pushy or rude. I have found both employees and shoppers alike to be pleasant and respectful. It takes a lot of time and stamina to go through everything, but it's worth it.They have mostly clothes, bags and shoes, with luggage and books. CDs, some small electrical items, and miscellaneous hardlines. Items on offer are a combination of unsold GW store merchandise and unsorted donations. You can find new, used, and vintage clothing and household goods, all priced by the pound.It's clean, bright, and well lit. It's a fun place to shop and I've found some great bargains here.”

Me and my friend went in today- the store owner lady was so helpful and sweet, she showed us around the store, the sizes for things, and prices. speaking of prices, everything was super affordable, i got a pair of super cute heels for 3$, a lace blouse for 3$, and a purse for 3$! everything was so cute and the store was well organized, clean, and it felt like a very nice place to be. definitely recommend going! :)”

“Can anybody confirm if the pool is going to open up? This was the nicest pool of all the YMCAs and its a shame that its closed. Its almost like the YMCA doesnt want its milwaukee inner city residents to have a nice community center. The fact that I live right up the street and cant sign my daughter up for classes is terrible. Something needs to be done. When this facility was open it was my absolute favorite. It was safe, clean and vibrant. And full of LOCAL families. Bring it back!”
