The Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center is a well-staffed location with friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic volunteers. It features a beautiful welcome center with a kids area, a well-curated gift shop, and a snapping turtle. A great lower level addition presents a great presentation of the ice age and impact to the marsh. The center provides information on walking, driving, and kayaking the marsh and offers engaging educational activities. It is full of great hiking paths and a magical boardwalk with photo blinds to peek at wildlife like pelicans, ducks, and turtles. The paths are easy, wide, and mostly gravel. The center plans fun activities during the holidays and offers themed activity backpacks. It is a lovely way to spend the morning or enjoy the very beautiful scenery.
I've lived in Horicon almost 5 yrs, and today was my first time out to the Marsh. Beautiful place, and so packed with information. And I absolutely loved the walking trails. πΆββοΈ π£
