This week our Shepard/Siberian mix needed a manicure, called them and 15 minutes later he was in and another 15 minutes and he was done. Friendly people who obviously love critters, and to top it off their prices are quite a bit lower than the big box pet stores.

Dr. Butler performed Jinx’s euthanasia this week and it went as well as it could go when losing your pet. She was very comforting to us during that process, explaining everything as she was doing it, and warm and kind. Thank you so much for being there for Jinx in the last chapter of her life and for being a wonderful clinic.

Today's training for me and the pup with Mark was first rate. Clearly our dog now loves his behavioral training which is primary with followed by obedience.
We've used Red Star for five years for boarding our two other dogs, a small mixed breed and a GSP. The GSP was always straining to get into Red Star so we knew from the beginning they were treated right.
There's a reason dog lovers have brought their dogs here for training and boarding - some over 15 years. Quality, consistency, fairness to dogs and owners. Look at all the 5 star ratings and return visits. We are lifetime fans of Irina and Mark and their staff - Olivia at the front.

My husband and I didn’t realize that Saint Croix Baking Company closed at 5 PM and it was already nearly 4:50 as we were making our way to the shop. I called and spoke with a woman named Olivia. She could not have been more helpful or delightful to speak with. She was more than happy to assist us with getting some desserts and said she would be around a little bit after close, wrapping things up at the shop and not to worry about arriving after 5 PM. She had our order boxed up and met us at the door when we arrived a few minutes after close. Good customer service is so hard to find these days! Olivia was not only friendly, she seemed genuinely excited to help us and wasn’t put out by our last-minute request whatsoever. Wonderful job, Olivia! Thank you so much for saving our night and helping us get some delicious desserts. Everything we ordered was incredible. Nice job on all accounts, St. Croix Baking Company.

101 2nd Street South, HudsonWe had a fabulous tour and tasting experience! Guy, the owner, is super knowledgeable about his craft, and the spirits he produces are top notch. There's a cool little setup for adding smoke to cocktails (pictured), which was really fun.
Since it's just 30 minutes from our house, we'll definitely return to try some different drinks! Highly recommend 👌

115 Commercial St, HudsonWe had a Wisconsin ice cream shop passport and stopped here on our way to the Twin Cities. It is on the river, a darling location. The treats were wonderful. I got a dot cake ice cream special. My daughter got a shake. The staff are fun and helpful and energetic. There is an outdoor seating area or do what we did and take it to go and walk along the river.

520 2nd St, HudsonHoly cow! I have been to Hudson a number of times and finally found this gem. It was honestly hard to choose what to order, as EVERYTHING sounded divine. There were so many options for vegetarians and I noticed plenty for gluten free, as well. We ordered the Urban Combo Pick 2, and we both got quiches and different soups. The quiches were decadent and creamy with plenty of veggies, and the tomato bisque was to die for. Loved the large tea menu, we ordered a couple of hot teas as well. We had also gotten the warm Brie and baguette but ordered the spicy sauce which ended up having meat in it but it didn't specify that on the menu, the server checked with the kitchen and there was meat but she kindly and happily switched the app for the same thing but with a different sauce. The back room was a little on the chilly side we both agreed, I never took off my coat and hat. The ambiance was lovely. We loved it and I will be coming back and telling friends about this place too. Thank you!

You might find cafe coffee or a little shop that doesn't quite Master the art but Ember and Bean brings their absolute A game. From several diverse roasts to a lever press espresso machine, the brown water being dispensed here is far and above what you'll find almost anywhere else outside of the twin cities. If you love espresso make the pilgrimage and give them a visit.

500 1st St, HudsonWe stopped here on our way back from the cities because they had a really nice brunch menu. We did make a reservation but it was not needed. It was chilly so we sat inside and the atmosphere did not disappoint. The whole place was done in wood and jewel tones. We all ordered breakfast items. My mom had the French toast and the pieces were thick! It was good. One person had the Belgium waffle and the cream looked homemade. I had the breakfast burrito and it was really good, especially with the poblano salsa. Service was a bit slow but the waitress was good and knowledgeable. I'd come back.

Matt the manager on the other hand…. Yeah not so much. Throwing a knife behind the bar in front of customers and staff not the greatest way to show your management skills especially after you were the one to break a glass…. We will definitely be returning for ryan behind the bar not so much for the knife throwing Matt though… yikes ?
