Do not go to Group Health. Their billing department are cut throat, horrifically mean, and use rigid exploitative policy to talk to you like you're in the principal's office when they're trying to tell you they can change a payment plan and you're telling them you can't do it.

You'll be required to take your care into your hands far more than any patient should.Inconsistent diagnoses, horrible communication, and months delays for extremely serious conditions. Not a good support system here either, and most drs/nurses do not give your a personalized level of care. Some nurses here stand out granted. I only go here because my insurance demands it.

For patients with degenerative disc, bulging disc and herniated disc. PLEASE READ THIS! BECAUSE YOUR DOCTOR WILL NEVER LET YOU KNOW THIS.Spinal decompression makes the spine less susceptible to degeneration and breakdownIt is a non-invasive treatment that does not require any medication and is not very time consumingIt provides fast results and many patients have reported pain relief after their first sessionThis procedure is much faster than spinal surgery of any kind and does not have the recovery time associated with surgery eitherInstead of temporarily treating the pain with pain medication, spinal decompression provides natural pain relief by reducing the amount of pressure on the spine. This means that the back pain is not just temporarily resolved till the pill lasts, it is eradicated by dealing with the source of the issueThe patients undergoing Spinal Decompression Therapy do not have to worry about addictive painkillers or side effectsWhen compared to surgery, it is an extremely safe optionThere is no risk of allergic reactions to anesthesia and infectionsThe possibility of infections is eradicated through this minimally invasive therapy.Everyone with back pain should know aboutDECOMPRESSION THERAPY. Your doctor will never share this with you, they are all about MILKING YOUR INSURANCE and sending you in circles. This decompression therapy is for people with degenerative disc, bulging disc and herniated disc.It works you will be pain free with this treatment!

Pros: My primary care doc is an amazing gem and so is my PT at another clinic. The nurses I’ve gotten to know are great, too.Cons:- The wait time is very long for an appointment in primary care and many other specialities.- GHC will give prior approval for some outside care when specialities aren’t in the GHC network, but they will jerk you around with the bills, denying them or paying them slowly, or paying in several installments, so the outside institution badgers you for money constantly and you’re stuck calling over and over to try to get the situation rectified. If you have any kind of health issue that requires coordination elsewhere, GHC makes it a PITA.- Their medical device/wear options are super limited and in many cases they won’t cover these items elsewhere, so your coverage for medical equipment is often useless.

Myself and my wife and two daughters have had GHC insurance and have primarily been using this facility for almost seven years. In that seven years we have seen many dozens of providers and staff members. Nearly all care and interactions have been wonderful and caring. Yes, folks working at the information desks -- the “front lines” if you will -- can occasionally be cranky, but usually they’re very kind and patient, much more pleasant than I would be if I were in their shoes. Thank you, GHC, for all you’ve done for me and my family.

It is ALWAYS a pain to get things approved. They care more about contracts than approving our 3yo daughters surgery to allow her to walk pain free. Surgeon said do it immediately. GCH, denied it and now she has to wait 2 months. In the meantime her walking is getting worse. Hope she doesn't have even more damage. GHC sucks! If I could switch I would.

I have been a GHC customer for 23 years.I had minimal need for care until 2014.I have waited average of 5.5 months to see any specialist at UW.This is typical with all GHC patients.SSM can schedule within DAYS. Do NOT choose GHC if you want availability of care.

AVOID if you have the option. They denied a day of my hospital visit when I physically couldn't get into my apartment. They have denied genetic testing to confirm a genetic diagnosis that is showing up in my blood tests. Now, when I brought to their attention that UW Health likely violated my civil rights, their response has been, "So what?!" To top it off, every single primary care provider I've been to here is two-faced and definitely not on your side.

I'm ok so far with the various primary care providers I've worked with. But if I have to make use of what is supposed to be their "network" (ie UW Health,) the interractions between GHC and UWH are a minefield of mistakes, long waits, miscommunications, non-communications and billing problems. It seems that their method of interraction (at least from the patient perspective) relies on mychart and it's total bloatware. (You can wander for quite a while trying to figure out where billing details are or what the status of a referral actually is.) And, for some reason, they convey referrals before they are approved (you'd think a system would actually be BUILT to avoid that) resulting in phone calls (to the UW especially where hold time if almost always ten minutes) and back-and-forth interraction via mychart messaging that always takes at least a day. Currently, I'm waiting to hear why they assessed me a significant deductible for an appointment I never had that coincides, timewise, with a mychart message request for them to put their heads together with UWH to give me an options for an antibiotic that seems to be unavailable. Having had an experience where I had to go before their board to get access to denied medicine (I ended up getting a federal review that required them to provide it) I think I am ready to talk to that board again. They need to start getting real.

I have been a patient at this clinic since I was probably 18 years old, I'm 26 now. I have never had a negative experience until recently. The doctors and nurses are phenomenal carrying people....id you get lucky. But unfortunately if you are in a compromising situation that might involve surgery you are met with coldness when you are upset or scared they are trained to be robotic. The humanity is definitely taken out of health care when it involves group health. I saw 5 doctors in a month and a 1/2, I was never able to reach my primary who had been seeing since I was 18 or something. And out of all those doctors only two of them cared enough to not rush through my concerns. I feel afraid for the future when problems occur as i age I. I know this is the entire American health care system but it's frightening and I can't imagine how it is for people to have it worse than I do.As for the nurse at the pharmacy, she is a robot. And does not care about her patients concerns or their medications she's just there to check you out and get you out of the building. I understand that everyone needs a job and health insurance but I think that the American health care system has no litmus test for who they let into this line of work, its scary. I am a healthcare worker myself and I had a horrible experience today with the robotic, rude, uncaring pharmacologist at this clinic. My only advice to patients reading this is that please please for the love of God, do your research when you are ill. Doctors are not scientists. I knew my condition for 4 weeks and was told it wasnt likely by 2 doctors. do your own research about the medications that you are picking up from this pharmacy and decide for yourself, not based on what the pharmacist says if you are in need of them especially if they are antibiotics Because the robots of the American healthcare system seldom care when you are afraid or upset and have questions They are following a script half of the time that they were taught in school or by the epic system. So please do your research if I wouldn't have done mine I would Have been in a compromising position throughout my clinical's course for school next week because this antibiotic would have destroyed my tendons and put me in the hospital.

It is so hard to get into my Primary Dr or her PA/Team for a routine physical. I made an appt in September for a physical in early December. GHC called me in late October and said my Dr. wasn't available on the day I had the appt. I was ok with that and just made a new appt for mid-February. In mid-December they called me again and told me that my Dr. was not in the office on the Feb day that I had an appt. Now we are into April for any open appointment times and the scheduler told me there are no phone call waitlists when an appt gets cancelled. Long story short...I made an appt in September for a routine physical with my Primary Dr. and now the earliest I can get in is April. One of the appointment persons suggested I do a video appointment. I didn't realize it was possible to look in my ears, do a pap, check for breast lumps, check for skin changes, check my ears, etc...all online...I am now looking into getting new health insurance for the new year. I checked with my old Dr. at another HMO and the wait time for a physical with her is only 2 months. On a positive note, the care I have received when I actually get an appt is decent.

I pay $1800 a month for healthcare and it takes me four or five months to get in for a physical, every time I need to make a doctors appointment, It’s about three months out. Just got out of the hospital and I can’t get in for two weeks to see my primary care, oh but I can video visits with someone else, if that pleases me. It was really pleased me just to get the super expensive healthcare I pay for every month, when I need it.Besides slow speed they’re like every other overly expensive clinic or insurance provider in Wisconsin.

Friendly receptionist upon entering. Clean, comfortable waiting area. My doctor was on time, and as always extremely pleasant. Received a referral for an additional appointment, and the receptionist in the other area was very helpful and friendly, too.

GHC's policy is to not offer financial assistance to anyone who has insurance. Because of that, I need to knock off a star since there are safer places to go in Madison. That being said, my experience with their staff has been great for physicals, vaccinations, and lab work.

I have been going to this GHC location since the early nineties. I have had a few different insurance changes, and a couple of doctor changes as well, and while things haven't always been perfect, overall looking back I have been very happy with my own as well as my family's care here.As many of the reviews say, the health system is "broken"..., just like the school system is broken...which is often a response to things not going the way we want them to. Life could be better for most of us, including the medical and reception staff at GHC (in addition to their patients), and while these caring people, like teachers, have limited resources and time to deal with infinite and never ending problems and sick patients --I think they do a damned good job.I respect and value my doctor here who has worked hard to find me the help I need through specialists for things I struggle with that go beyond what GHC Capitol can treat. My children have grown from infants to young adults being treated here when they have been sick through the years...and of course my wife has been going here for as long as we've been married as well.I am grateful to GHC CAPITOL as they have been helping me and my family for the majority of our lives, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Thank you for the thankless job you all do... security, receptionists, custodial, nurses, assistants, Pharmacy, PAs, doctors, behavior support....all of you. Thank you!!! You're awesome ??
