“Google asked me how my visit was...and I really had to think about it. When I walked into the East Town Mall Hot Topic....it felt more like a Lukewarm Conversation. Gone were the mall goth employees and black spiderweb windows that would drive fear into Suburban soccer mom's hearts. No longer were there aisles of CDs, records, or headphones to listen to HIM's newest music. Instead, racks of Spongebob and Naruto merchandise lined the middle tables, toys from all kinds of nostalgic 90's movies, and novelty t-shirts that seem more like "tepid topics" than anything current. I walked in very specifically because I had a gift exchange where the person wanted Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise...which is at the store in droves. Did I buy something? Sure did. Would I do it again? Tough to say... I can't think with the 13-year-old inside of me screaming that Hot Topic has become what it most feared -a poser.”

“Ok look I order online 99% of the time, got my latest order of kicks with only one shoe, so I was a little disappointed, now this was on a Thursday morning, so I hop in my whip and head to the retail store cause that's what they suggest.So I get to the store with no attitude, this super nice manager named Van helps me out, makes the process super smooth, of course they don't have it in stock, but gives me my paperwork and says it will come soon.
Two days later on Saturday to my surprise they show up,unbelievable above and beyond service,never going anywhere else.Give Van a raise at the very least.”
“Just stopped in after eating at the Turkish cafe and got some cute pants. The shop owner was super nice, and told us so much of how she and her husband came about all the great prints, and the shop! Madison ... this is a gem with cute stuff for gifts for your friends or co workers. So much to look at! I highly recommend this store!”

“Worth the trip and the time. Janice is a spirited lady with a passion for beautiful imported baubles and carvings. It is literally like an Indonesian "bazzarre" visiting her shop, but I always leave with a few little gems. This is my go-to place when I'm looking for a low-cost, unique gift for my friends and family. Her website does not do it justice--you need to call and start the conversation of what you are looking for. Here are a few headband/masks that we got.”

“Love this place. They take the time to get to know you and your tastes. Only place I can find unique casual men's clothing in town. It's a little pricey, but I am willing to pay for cool quality clothing. It's better than any stuff at the boring department stores.”

“I stopped by Sunne Boutique on Sunday, 11/9, with nothing specific in mind to shop for, but I had always heard great things. Carrie welcomed me in and gave me time to browse, making suggestions and engaging in small talk along the way. She showed me a matching top for the skirt I liked and gave her opinion on the sizing. I left with a beautiful skirt and a fabulous pair of pants, and I will be able to browse the jewelry and more very soon!”

“I LOVE these stores!! They have been added to my "Happy Places" List. The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable and showed me things I didn't notice (like the fact that a rack with flowy skirts also had pants) and that you sell belts and on and on. Drive over an hour just to see your place(s) and it uplifted my soul as always!! ?”

“Today my girlfriend got a bad headache at the mall and we sat on the bench in front of the Vans store. I decided to ask them if they had any aspirin for her head. They have me a bottle of cold water and some aspirin. We couldn’t have been more great-full. They helped us and we didn’t even go in the store. Great people there. Highly recommend.”
“I have found some AMAZING DEALS here. The staff was very helpful with holding my items as I shopped for more. The store is well organized and pleasant to shop. Their end of season discounts are really good. They even gave me free items when the season was over. I love this store!”

“My experience here was delightful. The staff were talkative without unintentionally overwhelming shoppers, and the displays were gorgeous. As someone who used to live in Colorado, and enjoys a nature or mountain feel, this place was the perfect amount of cozy. The lighting was mellow, and the space itself was cozy without feeling claustrophobic. I would give 5 stars, however I personally felt the prices were a bit above what I was looking for. I'm confident that the quality of the clothing is worth higher end, however it felt just a smidge above what I expected. Overall, definitely make a note to visit if you're in the area, this place is fantastic”

“This store has been on state street for a long time for good reason. It is a unique little store with handmade and imported crafts, instruments, and other items from other cultures. I did not expect to find fine jewelry, which staff were gracious in working with me to purchase. Overall good vibes.
One change I would be interested in however is to see some mosaic lamps (which there seemed to be an abundance of) replaced by other unique and interesting handcrafted items the store does not yet have yet fits its theme.”
“There are some great finds to be had here! With the exception of the "fresh finds" rack, it's $5 for any single item, $20 for a swap if you bring a bag full of clothing or $30 to fill a bag. Hard to complain about any of that!”
