I rented a vehicle from Avis through Costco to take a road trip (to visit colleges) from Milwaukee (on 3/12) and ultimately drop off the car in Detroit (on 3/16). Car was a bit dirty was worked. When I dropped off the vehicle in the Avis airport return lot in Detroit last Saturday, the bus shuttle driver said to leave the key in the car (did not see any other Avis employee around), and me and my sons took the bus shuttle to the terminal (and I have a picture of my kids from inside the shuttle bus). Just got a receipt saying that I kept the car until Monday 3/18 (?!?), got charged extra, and appear to have been charged a higher base rate than what I booked through Costco. Not a happy customer.

I’ve been Avis Preferred for several years. Recently, my receipts have included “fuel surcharges” despite returning the vehicle with a full tank. My current invoice indicates a $18.55 charge because of a .8 gallon difference between out and in. How am I supposed to measure that? My opinion, it’s another scam way of charging customers more money - not the service I expect from AVIS.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Not the first time from Avis that I've had a terrible experience. Received an extremely filthy vehicle and on top of it, completely unsafe. Coffee stains in the cup holder, finger prints on the inside of the windshield. It looks like someone was drawing images with the condensation on the inside. The vehicle shook profusely between 50-70 miles/hr. The tires were completely worn; less than 4/32nds. Tires shops would deem that these tires need replacing and stopping distance compromised. The wipers have probably never been replaced; was not effective in the rain. Lastly, when I told the attendant upon return, she debated with me about the tires and only indicated that she "let them know". No apologies for the poor experience or anything. You can tell that the company culture is not one of customer service. Will never rent Avis if I can help it. This is not the first time this has happened but this was the worst.

My mother and I rented a Toyota Camry from Milwaukee General Mitchell Airport Avis. The tire light came on yesterday 03/08/2024, so we went to Lomira Auto to address this. The Avis agents were nice and professional. The Camry was comfortable and we had to figure out how to remove the Toyota key out of the ignition by pushing down on the key and turning it.

Milwaukee Airport Avis rocks! Not only were they inexpensive, but the whole pick up and drop off was as painless. My best rental experience in a long time.

We had some issues with our booking but the woman Misty at the counter was so kind and helpful and got us a better deal than it began as. she was so kind it made the booking so easy

Overall it was a great experience, but the Car was Dirty when I received it. I've noticed that Car Rental companies are not doing the basics anymore. Just wash the darn cars.
