Budget was very responsive to an issue I had. I didn't ask for anything, I was just stating what happened, but they helped out anyway. I will use them again!

I rented a car here on Thursday, October 5,2023. I was in Milwaukee for my dad's funeral. The car was not clean, did not have GPS, and had damage. I probably got about 5 miles when the check engine light came on. I attempted to call Budget Rental Car and ask for another car because I didn't feel safe driving the car with the check engine light on. I got caught in the automated loop. Has anyone ever had that happen where you can't reach a person, a supervisor, or anyone? I finally pushed number for reservations and advised the CSR that I had a car and the check engine light was on. Explained, "I needed to make it to my dad's funeral and would need another car, a safer car. You know what, she put me back in the automated loop. I tried to take the car back, and I didn't know where to go besides the return area. If you go in that areas you can't get out. So I kept driving so I would be late for dad's funeral. I prayed the entire way that the car wouldn't stop even talking to my recently departed dad to help me make it there. Thank GOD and dad that I did. I took the car back this morning and told the check-in crew of my experience, and she said, "Go to the counter and explain what happened. Got to the counter, and all the lady said was, " we will be put a service mark on it." "I don't know why she sent you here. We don't do anything else about it." Folks, DON'T GO to Budget Rental Car, cars are dirty and not maintained. CS does not exist except to take your money when you make a reservation. Horrible experience and absolutely zero accountability with them.

This was my first time renting with Budget. If it was not for the night time manager at the Milwaukee Airport and the generous security guard aiding me I would have rated this experience a 0. I originally booked a vehicle through my southwest app due to the bundle being more affordable. It connected me to budget however I am a gold member Hertz but I caved and gave it a shot. I made the reservation and a noticed popped up AFTER I made the reservation stating the facility I chose closed at 10 PM, my plan lands at 11:05 PM. I called the central budget scheduling because I could not get a hold of the ACTUAL facility for pick up. He informed me that he would put in a request for night time pick up and that I would find out in 72 hrs if it’s available. REMINDER, this is my first time booking with budget so I was highly confused when no one reached out to me in 72 hours. My reservation was still active so I assumed it accepted. Fly from TEXAS to WISCONSIN just to learn my request was denied (even though this is an airport, flights leave as early as 3 AM and land past midnight). Apparently, I was suppose to call. Call who, I am unaware seeing as if I did not have the number to the facility. So I recalled central booking and instead of aiding me he consistently informed me that I have been denied and do not have a reservation even though my reservation is live and active in the system. The security guard at the rental location in Milwaukee looked up my confirmation on my behalf and called the Budget manager on site and lucky I was able the leave the airport at 12:30 AM.I find it highly unprofessional when I called Budget and was 1) not properly informed on how after hour pick up worked and 2) the caller who DID NOT attempt to help me LIED by telling me my reservation was not only denied but cancelled and instead of offering a solution raised his tone at me and continuously informed me my request was denied and it was my fault for not calling ahead of time. I would not suggest budget to anyone in the future unless it’s with Craig the manager at the a Milwaukee Airport.

My experience with the check in and check out was amazing. The problem was when I received a message stating my rental had ended and I still had the vehicle ?. I looked at my reservation and seen that my MODIFICATION had not been saved. I called Customer Service to get some understanding and to give them a chance to correct their mistake. After three Service Reps, two cold call transfers, explaining myself several times and a case number later. I pray they resolve this matter within the 48 hours that was told to me. Oh and I was given a vehicle that constantly informed me (on the dashboard and the smell) that it needed an oil change.

I would like to especially mention the helpfulness of my counter service person. Deanna on 10/18/23. She was so helpful and friendly when I arrived and the type of car I had requested it was not available. She kept me company and.As we waited for the perfect car to become available for me to rent and I loved the car.

Do not rent from Budget!Over and over they have screwed up.A couple examples:I was involved in a hit and run. Luckily someone caught the driver’s plate. I waited an hour for the police to report it and then followed the process on the Budget website to report it. Submitted their form, police report info, and let my insurance know. 6 months later they called to ask if I was in an accident. Which I said Yes and I reported it following your process! They were rude and said there was a different process for the local Madison WI airport location.I said I would never use them again, but I still had 2 $100 same as cash Budget certificates I had earned from my credit card points. When picking up my rental at the Milwaukee Budget airport, the manger said “we only accept 1 certificate at a time.” I told him to look at the terms on the certificates that say nothing of these restrictions - they are same as cash. After repeating myself a couple more times they finally complied. It appeared that they just didn't want to do the work to enter them into the system. Upon returning the vehicle, the manager walked away when we parked and we had to find someone to check us in. When I got my receipt they charged us over $50 for not filling the tank. Luckily, I got a receipt when we stopped at a gas station 3 miles from the airport and had filled the tank 10 minutes earlier. It was clearly past “F” when we pulled in. This required another phone conversation to get fixed. That's when I found out the Manager had also not added my husband as an authorized driver even though I had provided his ID (and Costco reservations allow 2nd drivers). Just one issue after another. I've also reported this to Costco as I will not be picking Budget the next time I reserve a car from them.Avoid renting from Budget!

It should be No stars! Poor service at every step at MKE. I have never had a Budget rental experience this lacking in customer service and we rent almost monthly around the country. Car was dirty, lots of dents, rust.

I rented a compact car and received a full sized car for the compact price. It was clean and ready for me when I arrived. I drove up and down Wisconsin a few times during my trip without any car issues. The attendants were kind and helpful both at pick-up and return. All in all, a great experience!

Received a vehicle with radio not working. Became a hassle to resolve involving multiple trips to Budget locations, phone calls & emails. Forget trying to get “customer service” over the phone. Also “love” all the hidden fees that are tacked on after your original quote online. First time renting so maybe all the car rental vendors are similar???

Good service. Car wasn't clean. Smelled of smoke. Had hand writing in marker on the windows like it had just been purchased at an auction. Driver's side emblem fell off the car somewhere while we were driving.

This is the second time that I have had the pleasure of having the best representative ever checking me in for my budget car rental! RICCO is the man!!! He has a Super positive attitude! I left that place a lot happier than when I got there, and I was already happy! I will only rent from budget at the Milwaukee airport because of Ricco!

Very easy experience. The pickup staff was very friendly and helpful, and I've never had an easier dropoff experience. The vehicle was practically new and drove great, and the counter is well situated and not out of the way.

We picked up Nissan SUV upon arrival at the Budget Fast Break counter. The vehicle had heavy hail damage on its hood and we found the tires to be bald. We returned the vehicle within 24 hours to exchange it for another vehicle. Fortunately we were able to do so in light of limited inventory. This is the 3rd time in two years where we've had to exchange a vehicle due to poor maintenance of Budget's rental fleets.We do really like the Fast Break program as it greatly speeds up the rental of a vehicle and allows us to skip the long lines at the rental counter.

Picked up on 08-09-23. Counter only had 2 employees and a line of customer's trying to pick up their vehicles. Took us an hour just to pick up the car which is awesome after being on a plane for 4 hours.Car was a relatively newer Toyota Corolla, but the inside of the windshield and windows were filthy. There was a grimey film on the windshield which is awesome when you're driving through a Wisconsin thunderstorm. The interior of the vehicle otherwise was relatively clean with no odor.$286 for 5 days was the going rate which isn't horrible. Returning the vehicle at the MKE airport was very easy and very self-explanatory. Plenty of signs directing you where to go and what to do.I also thought it was odd there was no one that did a walk around on the vehicle prior to us taking delivery. We noticed an enormous hole in the fabric of the rear seat. I don't think they'd try to blame us for that and are likely already aware of it, but again, there was no walk-around. That seemed quite odd to me.

This is the worst rental company I have ever dealt with traveling! First we paid extra for toll and we were told there was a gadget in the vehicle and I called them after five mins of leaving the airport. We paid for toll for nothing. Also while we were traveling our key fob died and customer service is worthless. We are from Texas in a completely different state stranded and I demanded a refund for this trip! No refund! This is pathetic poor customer service and business model. They don’t care about their customers just money! I will never recommend budget to anyone! They could at least reimburse us for this trip for their broken vehicle
