If you apply for rent emergency assistance employed but out on leave and need a little help, this is not the place to go to. They do not assist you which is concerning!

This place is amazing ! I walked in and wasn't expecting for them to help me on the spot. My WE ENERGY bill was on my mind heavy. And guess what they paid it right then and there. I seen the credit on my account and the heavy weight of the world lifted. Just when you think there is no way good people and places that have always been there, you finally see. Amazing Places !

Rude, classless and unprofessional! They don’t answer the phone or emails. When you go in person the older lady is rude. It’s giving, I don’t like my job. I don’t feel like being bothered with the same questions, but I can’t retire yet so I show up every day and do the bare minimum. She told me that she was the supervisor for Waukesha county. She told me that my application was denied, but couldn’t give me a reason why. She was very ridiculous with things she would tell vs not tell me. She told me that there is NO more rental help. And sent me on my way.Okay, so I went to the website after I left. It clearly said applications are closed for Milwaukee County ONLY! They are still accepting applications in Waukesha County. Not only that I logged in(I forgot you could even do that) to see if my old application would show up. It was there and said PENDING not denied. So, not only is she unprofessional she also flat out lied several times. Instead of helping me get to the bottom of this and offer a solution she decided to petty and ignorant. If you can’t articulate properly then don’t sit at the front desk. The much younger lady sitting up there with her had way more class and professionalism about herself than this “supervisor”. She should be setting an example for the younger generation. Instead she’s proving people right that say older women on the job are messy for no good reason. That’s pathetic!

Their system has changed because of covid protocol but it can be more effective. Just don't try to call them. That IVR is RIDICULOUS‼️ They need to hire people to create a call center as they have streamlined the actual service area.

It saddens me when you try to get help and you continue to get the run around. I applied for rent assistance in April 2023 due to a medical condition called Diabetic Eye Disease which pulled me off work for about 2 to 3 months. The house I currently reside has issues with the City of Milwaukee and I've notified which is why I am going through an eviction. However, I received an email from Leticia Joshua in June informing me to provide documentation by July 2023 cut off date. I went the next day and hand delivered the documents to the representative that saw me that day. I went back a week later and sat with another representative who told me it was being processed. I waited another week, went back only to find out my paperwork was lost and she (representative) would not provide me information, asking me if I can bring them back. "Really!?" After you just lost my information that is confidential, and you still won't try to find them? Wow" As I was walking out, the other Energy Assistance rep provided service and paid my entire WE Energy bill. I was truly thankful for that, however, I still haven't received any information regarding the rent assistance. It has now been 3 months since June. What is going on. I spoke with Mr. Polk who advised me, he sent an email to the Underwriting Dept who provide the determination if the rent assistance was approved. I still have not received any information, as well as, Mr. Polk providing the communication that he promised and assured me he would. I was also working with Joshua McVey who is in charge of rent abatement. What's going on? Why am I experiencing this type of treatment seeing that I need HELP!!! Here I am a WI resident and you mean to tell me this is how you're treating those who are in need? Wow..

I think that this was my final attempt in asking for help. I called the number for community advocates and I listen to the voice prompts and I press the number for domestic violence and I spoke to a man who didn't seem to understand women's issues at all who then gave me the phone number for community advocates. I told him that I did call community advocates and was led to speaking with this person and he said, I'm sorry I can't help you try calling 211. I am tired of social systems that only profit the CEOs while leaving those of us who are suffering alone and without help or compassion. I do not understand why a man would work for a domestic violence organization who does not demonstrate any competency or compassion toward domestic violence. I have truly lost faith in my own life and I pray that God will take it from me so that I do not have to myself.

They let me get evicted and ghosted me for the legal help. Was given a 5 day so that I could get assistance, I wasn’t assisted so now I’m going to be homeless. Thanks community advocates!
