Worst Bank FSA administration ever. It appears as though the business model is to prevent you from using your FSA funds so that you have to forfeit them at the end of the year. The bank will deny nearly every claim and foce you to provide documents. Then they make it difficult to impossible to submit documentation. I have lost funds to them 2 years in a row, after never losing FSA funds in over 30 years when we were administered by a different bank. I tried to give zero stars, but Yelp won't allow it.

My employer has put money into an account for me to use for medical expenses. HSA Bank has yet to send me a debit card to access those funds. My daughter went to Walmart and the card was declined so she used my debit card to pay for my medication. I called the next day and spoke to a young man named Keron that lied to me just to get me off the phone, by telling me my new card should be in the mail and if not call back tomorrow. Today I spoke to Ishema and Feli C. Feli C is the supervisor with a bad attitude, she said they could not expedite my card, nor could the connect the empty card that I they sent me. Even after I told her that I need my life saving medication. If you are looking for a company to handle your company's HSA account, please do not use HSA Bank, horrible customer service!!!

I opened an account and couldn't fund it. I called and asked for help and they said due to fraud they would close the account. I said I should be able to resolve the issue since there is no fraud. They responded that a supervisor denied my request and there was nothing I could do and they wouldn't even tell me the nature or the fraud. Garbage. Beware and save your time.

Trying to get a replacement card was one of the most difficult processes I have ever endured.

HSA is the worst Bank I have ever dealt with, I cannot access my account on line, they have limited hours of service and they blame anyone but themselves for the worst systems known to mankind. Frankly they should be closed down as they are pathetic in every conceivable way.

Deserves negative stars. I should have come to Yelp first to see the reviews here. HSA Bank got positive review on Investopedia. What a scam! I opened an account, same day sent transfer request to my old HSA company. A week later, they mailed a check to HSA Bank. In the meantime, HSA Bank CLOSED my account. No contact from them; no explanation. I didn't even know they had done this. Once I confirmed old HSA company had mailed the check, I waited one week. Still no money in my HSA Bank account (which didn't exist, though I was misled to believe it still did since I was able to log in). One week after the check was mailed to HSA Bank, I called them and learned my account was closed. And yes, they had received the check, but they "rejected" it because I did not have an account. Where is the check? They don't know. They don't know if they've mailed it back or if it's lying around somewhere. I was looking forward to having an HSA account where I could self direct the investment and lose the money in the stock market all by myself. They lost the money for me before I even had a chance. And good luck trying to find your account number on their awful web site.

i would give zero star if that was option. Their process for reimbursing myself for healthcare expenses is absolutely flawed. Their system does not allow users to attach receipts to our expenses WHEN WE FILE THE REQUEST FOR REIMBURSEMENT! All the other HSA providers (Optum Bank, HealthEquity, etc.) do NOT have this issue! It is difficult to believe that HSA Bank does not enable this fundamental accounting practice for their users. I will be leaving as soon as possible.

Horrible customer service, website is extremely antiquated and their app just doesn’t work at all. For over a year, my employer was depositing money in my account but I couldn’t access it and nobody at the bank could tell me why my debit card wouldn’t work. After a year, I speak with a new customer service rep that said my account was “suspended” because my “welcome kit” was returned to them as undeliverable. Really bizarre because I was able to get 2 replacement debit cards delivered to my home and my employers deposits get working. Also, I kept getting monthly statements. Also, if your account gets “suspended” by the bank, they won’t notify you. The customer service rep I spoke to actually had the nerve to imply it was my fault for not knowing my account had been suspended! Long story short, this bank is a joke and there are far more competent and professional places that you can move your money.

Similar to the other reviews here, clunky website, awful transactions help and confusing representative help with requests. I've been trying to transfer my funds out for the past 2-3 weeks and reps have given me conflicting information on how to do it since I have a brokerage account tied to my HSA Bank acct. Possibly good for only a basic HSA, but there are other better basic HSAs available.

Clunky website, ancient processing. I've been trying for SIX MONTHS to close my HSA after I was laid off in January. SIX MONTHS. What's holding it up? Apparently emails to an inbox that don't get checked, an absolute lack of follow-up, and repeated requests to FAX (it's 2023 who still uses a FAX MACHINE to conduct business) forms, which seem to never arrive. If I didn't know better, I'd swear this bank is just losing my account closure requests just to hold onto my balance and collect the $4.50 monthly fee for as long as they can. I've had multiple HSAs better than HSA Bank's.

stay FAR away. Account is locked for too many attempts. Ok, my bad. Send me an email to get it unlocked. Email never comes. Ok, I'll call up to get it unlocked. I'm on the phone on hold for over 15 minutes while they try to get it unlocked. They can't. I said this is scary. I gave you all my info, SSN, DOB, Account #, Address and you can't even overide your system to unlock my account?! When will it be unlocked "We don't know." WHAT!!!? OK, this is scary. You know what, I don't want you guys with my money, close my account. "Ok there's a $25.00 fee for closing your account." WOW STAY FAR AWAY.

These people are incompetent THIEVES. For the short time I had an account with them, I was never able to access their HORIBBLE website, and when I called to see what the problem was, I spoke to a sarcastic idiot who obviously did not know ANYTHING about the company's website. Oh, and it takes FOREVER to reach a human being on the phone. Then, when I went to close the account, I was charged a $25 "closure" fee!!! Really? That's on top of the monthly fee I got charged every month and the ATM fees I had to pay to use their worthless debit card. Never before in my 61 years have I I EVER been charged to close a bank account. Stay AWAY from this company--it should be shut down for stupidity and grand larceny.

I would recommend choosing another provider for your HSA account. They have monthly fees for simply having an account open (and not investing anything), additional fees if you want to invest, and a $25 fee just to close your account. There are much better options out there.

Under no circumstances should anyone use this company for a health saving account. After six weeks I was still unable to use my account even though money was regularly deposited into the account. Upon trying to close the account because of all the unnecessary red tape and hoops to jump through I was charged $25 for an account that was never activated. This is called a scam. I do not appreciate the wasting of my time. Highly unethical.
