There are many positives anything this restaurant. The decor is gorgeous and sumptuous. I was even in love with the ladies room. Lots of big cozy chairs and booths. We also LOVED the tin can nachos. They were perfect and crispy and the chicken was tender. I've never enjoyed nachos that much!The cons are drink prices and noise level. They have a pretty awesome cocktail menu, but be prepared to spend a lot. I guess you are paying for top shelf ingredients with a creative flair, but be prepared for sticker shock. We were also seated directly in front of the live performer. We couldn't hear ourselves talk, but they wouldn't move us because I guess our reservation had not specified a certain table. I would have spent way more time (and money) here if they were willing to move us.

10/10 would recommend their surf lesson! Both instructors were so fun and make it super safe and accessible. I will definitely be doing more lessons in the future!

First time in there, drove up from Racine north beach, and man was I impressed. Great customer service and super reasonable prices. Cool merch as well. Wiloha!! I’ve got my eye on a surfboard there hopefully next visit it’ll still be there. Obviously will be returning.

Honestly I can’t say that I am happy with anything here. There are so many problems… The owners communication skills, vague and even unknown schedule for when the owner would be available to discuss their return policy, anything having to do with issues with products, not to mention they do not back their products unless you can assert that your claims are in fact legitimate. Very unprofessional and honestly I won’t go back at this point. Speaking as a lifetime skater and surfer. I have been going to both of these locations (lake effect skate shop and surf shop and Phase 2) for years, getting my gear and such and the lake effect owner has always found a way to rip me off while the owner of phase 2 is like my favorite uncle almost. He lets you trade for equal value he cares about the flow and he actually cares about his products and his customers.

Jake and his crew KNOW THEIR STUFF! I recently have gotten into swimming in Lake Michigan and wanted to get back into skateboarding. Went in for earplugs for the swimming and was also considering gloves and boots for keeping warm during the swims. After taking the time to talk through the boots and gloves, I got talked OUT of buying them and left only with $6 earplugs (that work great for my swims). I returned to talk skateboards and after hearing what type of skateboarding I would be doing primarily (me on the board, my 3 yr old son on his bike, only around my direct neighborhood mainly), Jake recommended a cruiser board which I bought later that day (had to go home and verify his opinions with some googling, spoiler alert: he was spot on). Jake himself did a once over of the skateboard to make sure I could ride it out of the store and broke a couple of tools to make it happen. Above and beyond service! I absolutely LOVE my new skateboard and will be back for more help, great advice, and possible a surfboard when ready to surf the lake. Stop in and spend all your money to support this awesome local business. Their branding and clothing is dope too!

What an awesome shop! My son wanted to upgrade to a newer better skateboard. The owner Jake was such a great help. He took the time to educate us on the different options and answered all our questions. We could not be happier. My son has a new board and we feel great from the best service and shopping local. If you need a new surf or skate board, this is where to go.
