“Such an honest and fair mechanic, Dan looked at my squealing belt on a Saturday and told me he thought I might have a bad AC compressor, after bringing it in for further inspection he told me all that was needed was a belt tightening and charged me $60 for looking at it and getting it done. He also found a few other things needing to be done and fixed them for a steal. I have never had such a good experience at a mechanic.Services: General repairs & maintenance”

“The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and down to earth. Can't can't afford all the repairs at one time? They'll give you a report of their inspection and prioritize which repairs or replacements need to occur, based on your budget. They'll be frank about repairs that may not have to be done immediately, and recommend when indeed your vehicle should return.I started out as a customer of the Gages Lake shop, at the time residing down the street from The Gages Lake road garage. As I have since moved further north, I now visit their Lake Villa shop; once again, thankfully being a short walk away.That said, even if I were 50 mi away I would still prefer to bring my vehicles here... They're trustworthy, competent, and practical. Heck, at both shops there have been occasions when they found less expensive ways to fix an issue and subsequently charged me LESS than their original quote... Passing on the savings to me.”

“I came in to get some aftermarket rims mounted on my son's car. I had an issue trying to get the locking lug nut off of one wheel myself. I explained the issue and they said they would take a shot at it. They told me they would charge me $30 for a tire rotation. I saw them struggle with the lug nut for over an hour. Trying multiple tools etc. At one point there were 6 guys working on it. In the end they still only charged me $30 for it. I felt kinda guilty paying just that much knowing the amount of labor that was tied up in the whole process. I can tell you they earned a customer for life. I'll go back anytime I need anything tire related. Stand up company. A+++”

“I'm eternally grateful to American Muffler and it's owner Tim Castle and his son. They were nice enough to open my car for me after I accidentally locked them in my car while I was at QuikTrip in Burlington. I don't know what I would have done, if it wasn't for Tim Castle's son who opened up my car for me. We would have been stuck at QuikTrip for god knows how long while waiting for a tow truck from my insurance company to come open up my car. “The service was great. Rob squeezed me in not only once it twice. I had to cancel the first time because my child was sick. The heat sheld from under my car was hanging down. It needed to be clipped back in place. In and out in about 15 minutes. But not only that didn’t even charge me. What? That is absolutely unheard of. Must have know it had been a rough last couple of days, it really made my day, heck my week. Definitely going back.Service: General repairs & maintenance”
