I’d bookmarked this place a few years ago, not expecting I’d ever get there, but it just felt special from what I saw. Fortunately a very random Midwest roadtrip gave me the opportunity to drive from Madison to Minneapolis and there was one guarantee on that drive - I was going to stop in Stockholm, WI.
I’m not exaggerating when I say this place does not feel real. Aside from the incredible “pay what you can” business model, the sense of community, creativity, delicious food, it’s the overall kindness makes you want to stay all night. So much raw talent got up on that stage, which you don’t expect in a town that boasts a population of 79. Everyone I encountered was happy to chat, and loved to hear about my solo journey that had brought me to Humble Moon. I can only hope to be lucky enough to experience this again, either in this life or the one beyond.

Maiden Rock Cidery, Winery & Orchard
W12266 King Lane, StockholmThe ciders are made in house and my favorite was the honeycrisp, but they made a crabby slushie with their crabby cider that was delicious. I also loved the plum mead, made locally that they offered. The tasting are inexpensive and generous enough to share. I recommend picking some apples to go as well. They currently have zestar.
