Pet Retreat in Wisconsin Dells was such a blessing for our family! We had an unexpected situation when we found out our resort didn’t allow pets, and Pet Retreat came through for us.
From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, genuine, and clearly people who really love what they do. The place is IMMACULATE !!!! it honestly feels like a little spa retreat for dogs! Cozy decor, super organized, clean, and you can tell they have high standards. Eric and his mom run a really nice operation.
They were so kind to us and our dog, and I really appreciated how seriously they take the dogs’ medical records and safety. I didn’t get to see the inside living quarters, but if it’s anything like the outdoor grounds, I’m sure the pups are living good!
Thank you, Pet Retreat! 🐾❤ Definitely worth giving them a chance to babysit your fur baby!

I really liked the food and the coffee, but the overall experience felt a bit confusing. The place seems stuck in limbo between wanting to be a quick coffee shop and a sit-down restaurant, which makes the flow a little complicated.
From Google Maps, it looks and feels like a restaurant with photos of plated breakfasts and sandwiches. When you arrive, front parking is very limited, though there is a convenient public parking lot right next door.
Once inside, the setup gets tricky. There’s a line to order at the counter, but no host to seat you. This creates an awkward situation where you either have to leave your personal belongings unattended to hold a table before ordering, have someone in your group hold a table without ordering, or order your food first and risk having no place to sit when it's ready. To add to the mix, you pick up your drinks at the counter yourself, but your food is brought out to your table—a strange hybrid system.
I think the owner (I’m guessing a woman based on a few details around the shop) might want to rethink the concept and focus on one direction: either lean fully into a fast-casual coffee shop with streamlined service, or go for a more comfortable, traditional restaurant experience.
On the bright side, the seating options are great. They have outdoor tables out front facing the main street, as well as a back terrace right on the river, which offers a fantastic view of the Wisconsin River!

My friends and I had so much fun! My girl said the tenders were good we were starving so we all ate onion rings too.

My husband had the Ribeye and it was cooked perfect. A lot of steak houses have over cooked his medium steaks. My pork chop was so good my husband stole a few bites. It was noisy though. It was our Anniversary and we were hoping for an area that we could actually talk to one another without having to raise our voices some but there wasn't really an option for that and we were sat around a couple groups with a lot of kids. We did tell them it was our Anniversary so I was hoping for more romantic table but maybe that's just not an option there.
