Tl;dr: the area manager for the region seems to be asleep at the wheel.I am an Executive Elite member, that is supposed to have a guaranteed reservation. I was told there was no car. I called the National Car customer care four (4!) times and escalated twice. They tried to reach the area manager as a priority was I was told each time I would get a call back in 30 minutes. No calls have come. Their own staff admit they always have fleet shortages and had some off the record words for the area manager.I was able to get a car from a competitor who were Wizards and got me on my way with a Fast Break! This desk attendant here told me that this happens to about 10-15 customers each day. Please read my corollary review at Avis/Budget.I will give an extra star because I've tried to rent from this National location 3 times and only gotten a car once, but the one time I did, the staff was very friendly.But if you need to make sure you have a car, I would have secondary plans lined up.

Booked a car weeks in advance and car was not available upon arrival. Ended up paying $400 more for Hertz rental next door. Corporate did reimburse me 3 free days after six calls and no response from local Casper rep after 3 weeks.

I got stuck in the April 2023 snow storm. They were very generous in helping me out offering me great rates and making sure I was taken care of. Excellent service, you have my loyalty!

The National assistant asked if I wanted a email or a printed receipt, I told her that for the last few months they would ask this same question and yet never send. The reason I need a receipt is for my companies records. She said no worries I will make sure I'll send to your email after repeating my email address. She never sent the receipt. National needs to hire people who do what they say and say what they do. Now I have to spend my time tracking down what National employees get paid to do.

Extremely efficient rental process. You literally pick one of the vehicles on the row, drive it to the exit, they verify your info, and you leave. Returning, a team member is there to scan the vehicle in and record the mileage, and you wait for the bus. Zero waiting in line, no going in a building. This is definitely a company who is striving to earn our business, even in the midst of a pandemic. The only problem I experienced was that I did not receive any email with the rental agreement until I turned in the vehicle. Use the vehicle properly and you don't need one I guess.

I needed a 4WD SUV for my rental in Casper, WY and National was able to provide a Jeep Grand Cherokee for me. The vehicle performed well, was very comfortable to ride in and had good fuel economy. There were no troubles with the vehicle and when I received the bill it was what I was promised when my company made the reservation.

People are nice, but I wish they would make it more clear that they are not physically at the airport when you book. The transferring, especially with a child, is cumbersome.
