405 North 1st Street, SaratogaMy mother and I were traveling through Saratoga just this last Sunday (Sept 6). We found this restaurant, took a look at a menu online uploaded by other users (not the staff), and then decided to stop here for lunch. But we were a bit worried because we were arriving close to closing. The moment we walked in, we were thankfully seated and given our menus. The menu was different from the one we saw online, learning soon after that the one we looked at was almost a year outdated. Looking over the new menu, we hit a moment of concern. My mother and I are both fatally allergic to Capsaicin, the chemical in all chili peppers and similar chili food items/seasonings that make those peppers and such spicy. Anything with any kind of chili pepper is a no-go for us, which eliminated the lunch items on the menu. Then we talked to our waitress, B. She was absolutely phenomenal during the entire visit to the restaurant! When we asked if there were any lunch dishes that didn't have chili peppers or spices, she went out of her way to punch in orders for burgers that were no longer on their typical menu that were safe for us to eat. She told me it was called the Firewater Burger. She listened to our concerns and took extra care to make sure my mother and I still had a good lunch. And man, that burger and the side salad was perhaps one of the best burgers and salads I have ever had! With that too, we waited less than 15 minutes from the time we ordered to when we got to eat, which blew my mind for what I was expecting the wait time to be as the restaurant seemed very busy that afternoon. From very quick service, to high kindness, to going the extra mile for my mother and I, to absolutely amazing food… and it still got better. After that was all said and done, we were sold two slices of some of the best homemade chocolate cake I ever had. Overall, a fantastic visit, fantastic waitress, fantastic food, and a fantastic experience!! Thank you B! Thank you staff! You made my day that day. 100% would recommend anyone to visit here!
