Ascension St. Vincent’s Birmingham is a hospital where the care received is frequently described as great, phenomenal, and the best. Many patients report a fast and efficient ER and awesome pre-op testing with clear instructions. The staff, nurses, and doctors are noted as being very nice, helpful, and phenomenal, contributing to an easy and impressive experience. Specific units like 6 Main and 6 South are highlighted for having the best team. However, some facility issues are noted. These include a problem with no hot water in a patient restroom, a poorly finished shower, and waiting room windows that need to be changed. An isolated comment mentions a lack of bathroom access after 4PM at the emergency entrance and an unclean outdoor area. The hospital operates several facilities and provides a wide range of procedures and community benefit.
There's an apossum that has been dead for a few days in the emergency entrance roundabout and there is no access to a bathroom there after 4PM. He may have died from constipation.

Admitted for Myocarditis and orthostatic hypotension and I was on 6 Main the first time and then to 6 South the next week. I had the BEST team taking care of me! They were all so very nice and helpful. I can not even explain. Best stay I have ever had there.
