Was told I paid my full bill at my doctors appointment. Got a bill for $95, paid it. Never received another bill from LabFirst. Now I have a $600 bill from a debt collector. I would’ve never had the bloodwork done if the LabFirst employee hadn’t LIED to me and told me it wouldn’t cost any more. Terrible business practices. Avoid these people at all costs.

This place is terrible. When I say the absolute worst that is what I mean. I called these people and the guy says due to high call volume, I cannot access your account information. After I said sir what you are saying isn’t making any sense. If I am on the line, what the call volume got to do with you helping me. He proceeds to repeat three time: due to high call volumes I cannot access your account and asks me to call back in a hour.

In collections now because Trinity Labs of Birmingham, now LabFirst I guess?, filed my blood work under my old insurance that had been inactive for three months. I have been trying to call to refile my claim statement and never get a call back.

Terrible billing! They keep billing me for a Bloodwork done last year. They processed on my primary insurance which denied it for deductible. I have spent hours on the phone trying to get them to submit a claim to my secondary insurance. I even had my secondary insurance on a 3 way conversation with them and myself and they still didn’t send it. I have several invoices with the same issue. Unfortunately, all my doctors use them. Lab First is terrible! I miss Lab Corp!

They keep billing me from months ago $1700! I have good insurance and no one can tell me why they haven’t billed my insurance company. The billing department at my doctors office says call your insurance and let us know and I’m wondering WHY I have to do their job and try and get this paid. Oh yeah, because if I don’t it will go on my credit report because they won’t do the job in the billing department!

Worst lab experience ever. My dad living an hour away has went back for the 4th time to give his 24 hr urine collection and have his blood re drawn. They’ve messed the other samples up. The first time we went the lady at the desk didn’t know what facts to give us one minute she said we needed to fast before blood work so she couldn’t do it that day. then 2 min later say’s nevermind you don’t have to fast and couldn’t give us a straight forward yes or no answer. The last time the blood was drawn has been a week and a day and his doctors office still hasn’t gotten results from the blood work from this lab. We will be refusing to go here if asked to go again.

I've had the same billing issue as other reviewers. I visited the lab on 1/9/23 and have been trying for over 5 months to get the billing department to apply what my insurance company has settled on in my EOB. I've been proactive in phone calls but the 'gentleman' in the LabFirst billing office was beyond rude to me saying they need to get paid for their services. I want this wrapped up as well but his response was very unprofessional. I will never use this LabFirst again.

The lab deserves a zero. I received a bill because they used the wrong insurance member number. This bill was almost a year ago. The statement said my policy was not in effect for the date of service. They used a member ID number from a previous year after they were given the current member ID number. I was given the excuse it was "human error." I find this unacceptable. I understand people make mistakes, but as I read other reviews. I see that I am not the only person that has encountered this problem.I will never have my labs drawn here again. This incompetence is not being addressed and appears to be the norm for LabFirst.I would not recommend this company at all on any level.

I went to see doctor at Grandview Medical Center. The in-house LabFirst lab billing is a nightmare! I can't help question why Grandview Medical Center would work with such a lousy lab in the 1st place. Why not use larcorp to make patient's life easier.Because of LabFirst, I don't recommend Grandview Medical Center neither. It's better to travel a bit further down to UAB or St Vincent to save the billing troubles.

I will not use Lab First ever again! Their billing department is horrible! They don't use the correct insurance codes that the doctor gives, they use whatever code they feel is "close enough". They will not resubmit the claim with the correct code back to the insurance company, even when asked to by the doctor. To make it even worse they won't keep any records on your account stating that you are trying to get this fixed with insurance, and instead just send your bill on to the debt collector. I have never had this problem when using other lab companies and insurance has always covered for the exact same blood work. Avoid the headache and the fight, use another lab company for your bloodwork!

If there was a 0, i would give them a 0! They messed up a billing to BCBS on a standard blood lab report to a local physician as part of an annual physical, all of which was covered under the BCBS plan 100%. After explaining that to them, they came back 60 days later demanding payment and threatening legal action for a $497 lab report. My wife paid the $497 via credit card, thinking she was in the wrong. I called BCBS and got them involved and come to find out LABFIRST messed up BCBS filing for payment and then had come after us . BCBS paid after i got them both on the phone and helped mediate, but the real BCBS price was $33.13, an overbill to me the patient of $463.87 on a $33.13 BCBS acceptable charge!!!!!!!!. 3 months and many phone calls later... Labfirst agrees they owe me back my $497 and have been paid by BCBS and now for the last 3 weeks say they have "processed" the refund and i should get the refund in 3-5 days. Now, over 21 days later. they claim they dont know where my refund is but it shows as having been processed 3 weeks ago!!!!!

Awful customer service. Literally would go anywhere else besides here. The staff doesn’t care and they will give you eye roll after eye roll. Grandview could do better.

Forgot to spin my blood after drawing it, ruining my samples. I live an hour away and work at night. The blood had to be drawn at 8am. It took a week to fully recover from that experience, so when they called to say they forgot to spin and I'd need to return, I had no choice but to oblige. I'm awake at 3:30am with anxiety over needing to leave here by 6:15 in order to get to Hoover to drop off by dog at 7:15-7:30 so that I can get to Grandview by 8am. They were very friendly, I just wish they could be more meticulous. Honestly, the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because they were friendly and there wasn't any kind of wait.
