Pleasantly surprised with how this provider handles its customer's concerns and requests.RxBenefits was difficult to work with initially while trying to figure out some issues I was having refilling medication for a chronic illness that changed where and how I was allowed to refill my prescriptions under my plan. After escalating the issue, they ended up working with me to find a solution that helped me out a lot, without being required to at all.My first couple of calls into the help desk were frustrating. I was very upset after being blatantly lied to on one of the calls (very embarrassing for me, and I could have handled it a lot better), while trying to find a representative that I could have a basic, non-scripted discussion with. However, I eventually talked with Shauna on the Accounts Management team, who was very calm and helpful, was willing to talk to me after how upset I was during the original calls, and was willing to help me with my benefits issues.I am thankful that the company ended up working with me on something they could have just said "No" to and walked away from (while losing me as a customer), and I appreciate their willingness to work with me given my personal situation. They have completely changed my original opinion of their company, and the level of care that they have for their customers.

If you look through the reviews, all the positive ones are from employees. Its really sketchy that they have employees drown out real reviews. If you like your employer go to Glassdoor.Avoid this provider at all costs. They are incredibly difficult to work with. My partner's medication has always been covered by my previous provider, but that changed when we switched to RxBenefits. Their PA process is laughable - there is no peer to peer, if you get to a second appeal it's called an "ROI" appeal (because apparently they need to determine their return on investment by covering life sustaining medications). Most reps we've dealt with are completely tone deaf, and apparently there is absolutely no one higher up to speak to if you request a manager. We've had nothing but headaches and stress with dealing with them. Even our physician's office stated they've never been given such difficulty before. It's a shame to see that actual end users of their services all have nothing but terrible things to say. Avoid this provider at all costs. Their practices are shady and make folks who already have a tough time with chronic conditions lives more difficult.

I would give Zero stars if I could but that is not an option. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, this prescription benefit company has been very difficult to work with. First of all, my clients prescription benefits card gives phone number to CVS Caremark for me to call for any questions or Prior Auths. So I call them only to be told they don't manage this person's prescription coverage and to call the number on her card. I proceed to tell them that this was the number on the card. Needless to say, we were unable to get anywhere. It was the pharmacist assistant who figured out (after several calls herself) that her RXs are covered through RxBenefits and I need to go to their specific website to complete the PA. Why it doesn't go through Covermymeds like every other prescription benefit company, is beyond me. It took a week just to figure out where her Rx benefits are coming from.So we eventually got the PA submitted through RxBenefits. It was "approved" but not for the specific generic the pharmacy has in stock. It was also "approved" because it was a medication that was already on her formulary, so it really technically didn't need the PA. The whole issue is that her pharmacy (due to national supply chain issues with these specific medications) doesn't have that generic version in stock and unclear when they will be able to get it. This supply chain issue has been know by all and has been going on for the last year. I am just trying to get another generic version of her med covered but RxBenefits now refuse to cover it.They also don't have a number to call for PA. You have to use their website or email them about it. If having issues with a PA, like I was having above, you still can't call someone to get it sorted out. You have to email them and could take 24 hours to respond. I have been trying to get this patients medication covered for the past 3 weeks!!I will be encouraging this client to seek out better coverage if possible. Unfortunately, she may not be able to get the medication she needs at this time. Poor service all around. Not impressed whatsoever. Do better!!!!!!

Getting pre-authorization is a pain and takes forever. Didn't even know this was the place I need to go through for anything. Once I finally find out, it's different from every other insurance and you can't even just call something in to be done that day. I have never had to wait this long. I'm out of my meds and no one cares. The only good is that the people I have spoken with have been nice.

RxBenefits excels at causing administrative headaches and unnecessary road blocks for both patients and providers. I have been on an injectable specialty medication for 6 years, and they denied a new year's worth of authorization causing me to fall behind schedule and unravel the progress achieved while being on it.They cite that my new doctor's notes do not document a history that the medication benefits me. Logic would deduce that because it continues to be prescribed, the medication does offer benefit. I also don't take an injectable medication simply for a fun time, but again, the clinical reviewers who process prior authorization requests appear to be unable to use critical thinking. Also why are so many of the reviews from employees' experience working for them? It's weird and misleading to clients who may consider contracting with this company.

Horrible company has denied basic inexpensive prescriptions I have been taking for years. The excuse they give for denial makes no sense what so ever. They create hours of wasted time for doctors and members with these ridiculous prior authorization requests. It’s too bad they are allowed to be in business. Hopefully there will be a class action suit against them very soon. They are out to make money by denying paying members prescription coverage.

Terribly long wait times when calling to speak to a representative. Have waited on hold over 45 minutes every time when calling from a physician office regarding prior authorization issues.

Awful company. You'll notice the 5 stars are all employees, while the bad reviews are actual customers. My prior authorization for life saving medication I've been on for 12 years was denied, and the appeal was denied, because I need "three trial and fails" on different medications before they cover my current med. I explained "three trial and fails" means life threatening seizures. Now I'm paying out of pocket and switching to my husband's insurance. Dangerous, unethical, and I question the credentials of any pharmacist that would look at my case and think, "three trial and fails" before we cover that medication. Everyone complains about healthcare in the US and RxBenefits is one of the worst. Stay far away. The quote, "three trial and fails" is disturbing.

Absolutely trash company. Denies very basic claims for necessary medication, leaving you on the hook for hundreds of dollars despite costing an arm and a leg every month. Useless customer service department. I have literally never had success getting a medication covered by them. From my wife's life saving insulin to the basic nausea medication she needs during her pregnancy, they have left us high and dry. Absolutely useless company. Avoid at all costs.I see they also send their employees to flood the reviews. You won't find a positive customer review on here. Absolute joke.

The number of employee reviews makes me think they are directing their employees to rate the company here. This is a place meant for customer reviews, it's not glassdoor. Went ahead and reported to google.Literally the worst provider I've ever dealt with. They second guess your doctor to penny pinch and do not care about your health. Been without meds for months because they won't approve a med change. Literally going to change jobs because the company i work for choosing this provider tells me that they care more about penny pinching than the health of their employees. If your employer chooses rxbenefits, RUN. THEY WOULD RATHER YOU BE DEAD THAN PAY FOR PROPER HEALTHCARE!

Trying to keep good hard working families from getting the medication they need. Even with the recommendation and appeal from my doctor they deny our authorization. Doctor said they aren’t the most reputable companies.

Notice all good reviews are from employees?! HmmmRecruiter reached out and kept having to reschedule the call. Then after stating I’d be a great fit for this database administrator and mentioning other roles, even discussing salary - he went radio silent, for weeks now.Leading people on is very cruel and extremely unprofessional. Says a lot about the company as a whole. You’re dealing with people’s lives here! I’m glad I didn’t get the job after seeing how they treat candidates.

Our company recently switched to RxBenefits as the company that "dispenses" our pharmacy benefits. Like others, notice how all the 5 star reviews are from employees, which is great, I cannot say that anytime calling customer service they were not "kind". However, I can say for sure that I have experienced what a LOT of others have, which is that I was taking a medication for 20 years, that is GENERIC, and they would not cover once the benefits implementation was switched to these folks. The first prior authorization was DENIED incredibly despite my doctor saying it "doesn't seem wise or prudent" to have to rapidly stop the medication.I am really blessed, so I could afford to pay out of pocket to fight with the company for 6 months, using coupons etc. while I got "approval" on a second prior auth. Again, I am blessed to have some medical knowledge, reasonable time, and afford to find other resources to pay. However, I KNOW FOR SURE that a lot of folks don't, and that this could have been catastrophic (I.e. couldn't get right meds - more PCP or heaven forbid ED visits which then just waste time at PCP/etc offices). This company advertises how "great a workplace" they are and they are "saving money" for companies, but all of these review are pretty clear HOW they are doing that. Putting up arbitrary guidelines that just waste your doctors time, your companies HR time, and frankly, the patient's time as well. Please, this company is TERRIBLE. I will be preaching against them to ANY HR meeting I'm in and will NEVER use this company again.

Most complicated benefits/insurance company I have ever dealt with. I've dealth with 3 insurance companies through 3 different employers over the last 10 years. Favorite line for anyone in customer service is "We are not set up for that." Gives me the feeling that RxBenefits is not set up to effectively conduct business the way the rest of their industry is. If you have any say so in the situation, avoid RxBenefits. Our company insurance is by far the best insurance I've ever had, their achilles heel is RxBenefits.
