Alaska Mountaineering & Hiking is a very good shop for outdoor activities gear, with tons of stuff for skiing, climbing, hiking, and anything outside. It is known for outstanding gear, especially Nordic, and the best cross-country ski rental prices in Alaska. The knowledgeable, friendly, and professional staff provide great service. The shop is competitively priced and locally owned, supporting local youth activities. Customers shop there for decades due to excellent service and support, making it a first stop for outdoor equipment.
Really helpful with purchase of ski equipment. Good gear is not cheap, but prices were fair.
