800 H St, Anchorage“Skinny Raven has great selection and customer service! And - they are truly all about community and providing opportunities for anyone who wants to give running a try.”
“Highly recommend and the only choice now in my mind for hockey gear! Shawn and Owner Ray were absolutely wonderful and provided top notch service. I was brand new to hockey and they fitted me properly for everything. While finding gear they gave me information about my choices, as well as different quality and style options within my budget. They took the time (over an hour) and made sure I was ready to play and safely! These guys went above and beyond with their customer service and knowledge so I could get out and learn the game! I won't go anywhere else for future gear needs.”
“I am so glad I was finally able to make it to this shop last Friday. What a game changer the Terry bike shorts made for my long bike rides (recommended by staff when I discussed my issues). I'll never buy the usual brands again! I wish I had bought them a lot sooner. I'll definitely be returning to this shop.”
“Went with a friend while she purchased shoes. Not crowded at all. My friend received excellent service in selecting shoes. Lots of places to sit. Another customer, a dad, took his small child outside to run around the cool track that Skinny Raven has for trying out running shoes.”

3054 Commercial Dr #3017, Anchorage“Dan the service manager, and Dan the service pro, as well as the guys in Parts we’re all very friendly, hospitable, positive, and helpful. A buddy and I erode our BMW GS’s from Washing to Prudhoe Bay and down to Anchorage. My front tire looks roast, so I called Alaska Motorsports and Equipment (formerly Anchorage Suzuki Arcticat). They had the tire I needed and took the time to fit a me in to mount it. I removed the front wheel in the park lot and in 20 minutes it was mounted, balanced, and replaced. Being from the lower 48 and on a strict itinerary, necessitated that I get a new tire today and the guys at AME made it happen! If you’re going to ride to Alaska, and especially Prudhoe Bay and Anchorage, you can call, text, or emailDan Hannigan at AME and pre-order and pre-arrange service for just about anything. They do tires, sure, but what if you need an oil change or fork seals or any other repair or service? These guys will do their best to make it happen. Of course, calling ahead of time is best, but you never know what will happen on a motorcycle trip…so give these guys a call. I’m glad I did!”
“I stopped at this store unexpectedly after our dinner. It’s almost winter time and I was in need for at least one big coat for daily use since I came to Alaska with only summer stuff. Both ladies who were working before closing time today went above and beyond with me! I was looking for a specific style that they didn’t have available in store and was trying things on. The girl was very helpful and knowledgeable even about how I shouldn’t get the white one if I live in the side of town where the snow could be a bit dirtier. I ended up getting my first winter coat with them and the lady at the counter wished me happy birthday and even said, welcome to Alaska. What a wonderful experience with this store even when they were about to close! I’ll be back for more:D”
“A phone call actually produced a human being on the other end rather than recording. The young man on the phone was very knowledgeable and verbally led me to the exact thing I needed. I was on a hunting mode for the holidays, and I will definitely stop there and acquire my item.”
“Purchased the perfect treadmill with knowledgeable help from our sales person. Not only was he well versed in treadmills, he was willing to spend time to educate.”

320 W 4th Ave, Anchorage“I have been shopping at Big Ray's for years. Always a great selection and great staff. The city needs to do something about the panhandling and homeless situation right in front of your door though”
“LFS Marine is an excellent source for so many items from boats, fishing, shrimping & apparel! They moved locations a couple years ago and this is my second time visiting the newer space, which is quite nice! It feels much larger and well put together, although I equally liked the other store.I'm pretty sure they have the largest stocked items for Xtratuf I've ever seen in one place, which is perfect. There isn't a reason for me to ever look elsewhere. They carry so many products that many may not think of like Grundens, Yeti, Xtratuf, Hydro Flask, Vision-X Lighting, Mustang Inflatable Vests, Ladner Shrimp Pots, Shrimp Pot Pullers, Shrimp Bait, and Salmon Sisters to boot. Their prices are excellent too, with no crazy markups. They have an Amazon storefront, but I highly recommend checking them out in person... which of course is cheaper than ordering online too!”
“Best deals in town on the 10x12ft tarp I needed. This store is stocked for Christmas. The toy gun to shoot mice with is a must have if you are going after the big game in the laundry room. Lots of parking.”
“They know so much if you have any questions just ask. They are willing to talk and teach. We learned so much about shrimping here. Also check out the clearance stuff.”

320 W 5th Ave D30A, Anchorage“I went to LuLu to look around, because I had a gift certificate. A sales educator by the name of Mattie helped me. She was so helpful and cheerful. No high pressure sales. I found exactly what I was looking for. The following week I went back and she greeted me by NAME!!! Asked how I liked my purchase! Wow. Kudos to this store. Quality products and staff!!”
“Was inquiring about a pool table repair. The gentleman I spoke with was very kind, and knowledgeable. He quoted me a fair price. Now, we are waiting on the funds to have the table repaired.”
“Best REI I've ever seen. Stopped for gear on the way to Denali. Had great stuff in the used gear garage. Super helpful staff with questions on local hikes and Alaska outdoors in general.”
“This Footlocker is conveniently located on the 1st floor of the 5th Ave Mall. Workers are always friendly and helpful. Clothing sales and shoe options rotate frequently. We are able to find our sizes more than half the time we visit. Recently, due to not having a size we needed for an exchange, we had to request a refund. Luckily, it was quick and easy.”
“I got the cutest shoes thsr were platform's they were like 70$, though, but they are nice and fit. The wait time to buy was short, so they get the job done quick”

320 W 5th Ave D26, Anchorage“Lids 5th Ave is bright and walkable. The young lady working when we stopped by was welcoming. We were given a detailed tour of each wall, and what Lids had to offer. They also have clear signage and mirrors that I thought was helpful. Lids customizes hats. I know that now, only because of how thorough their worker was. There are other sportswear and accessories to choose from, at most price points.”
“Awesome staff.Shelves well stocked. Plenty of places to sit and try on shoes. One of the few places I prefer to shop in person instead of online.Very clean in the store.”
“I'd definitely recommend this place especially because their customer service is fantastic.. I brought my 16 year old son there to find size 14 shoes (Fred Meyers/Walmart do not carry sizes that big) Anyways, the young lady helping was very nice, very helpful - took her time to help us find the right pair of shoes. Fantastic customer service and a large selection of shoes to choose from.”
“I took my 13 year old into the Dimond Center Footlocker around 8:15 on a Wednesday evening. I very friendly and knowledgeable young man named Castell helped us even though it was close to closing time and I'm sure he was ready to go home. The store was out of what my daughter had in mind however he showed her several like pairs of shoes and she found something she was really happy with. I was super impressed with his level of effort. I realized after left he had helped us before. A older lady with short gray hair snapped at him in a unprofessional manner. I wish I had said something to her then. I really hope this lady isn't getting away with degrading employees. The young adults/kids that work there deserve respect and I hope they know they have rights as employees to be treated professionally.”
“We had such a fun day out biking on the e-bikes we rented from Pablo's. Not having ridden an e-bike recently, we were grateful for the detailed instructions we received on the use of the bikes. Then when we were ready to head out on our adventure, Aram saw that we left the shop with everything we would need to enjoy ourselves: bikes, batteries, helmets and pogies. He even helped us load the bikes into the truck as we prepared to head out for Eklutna Lake. The day could not have gone better and to make sure it did, Aram gave us a number to call should we forget any of his awesome instructions or simply need help while we were out and about. I will rent from Pablo's again the next time I am in town!”
