“A very tiny place, however, it was a pleasure to stop in and learn more about the co-op! The prices are exceptionally fair and the person behind the counter spent a lot of time teaching us about the craft and process.”
“Huge variety of mostly Alaskan made products, plus some touristy stuff Made in China. Pricey vs. going out to the villages and buying from the artisans, but convenient and interesting.”
“This was my first time visiting with my friend, and I absolutely loved this shop! The energy was so positive, the staff were incredibly helpful, and there was so much to explore. I’ll definitely be coming back to this amazing place!”
“The best gift shop in Anchorage! Yes, it has quilt and yarn supplies but it also has unique gifts that feature work by local artists. Many of the quilts are designed by local artists, too, and the fiber/yarn offerings are local. The prices were better than I saw things offered elsewhere and the quality was better. Definitely put Cabin Fever on your list for gifts for family, friends, and for you!”

“We visited this souvenir shop in Anchorage yesterday and absolutely loved it.
The store is very large, with a huge variety of items — we ended up buying so many things! The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always available to help.
There were also great deals, like t-shirts for just $3, which was a nice surprise.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Anchorage!”
“Was a cool place. They werent actively making any when we were there which was a bummer. It would have been nice to have some signs explaining the process as the worker was brand new and really couldn't explain much. There was a video we watched which explained more but was pretty quiet.”
“Huge selection of Alaska's souvenirs,... from magnets, keychains to ivories and gems. This is a great store if youre looking for a last minute presents ? recommended”
“I love this little store. They have EVERYTHING! They have snacks, medicine, drinks, gifts and basically everything you'd need to make your stay in Anchorage enjoyable. I've visited them for years and the staff is always friendly. The prices are very reasonable, especially for Alaska. I'm glad they are in the Hilton and I hope they never go away.”
“First time in today! The moment I walk in my energy is reset ❤️ picked up beautiful mala beads and some much needed bracelets! The young lady was extremely kind, welcoming and knowledgeable! Needless to say I will be back ❤️”

“We visited this souvenir shop in Anchorage and were really impressed.
Even though the staff was cleaning when we arrived, the store was very well maintained, clean, and welcoming. It is extremely large, with a huge variety of souvenirs — you can truly find anything here.
There are also many offers throughout the shop, which makes it even more interesting to explore.
Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in Anchorage!”
“I went in to buy some gloves and I found the perfect pair at a very reasonable price, even got a discount. It's a cute little shop and it was a very pleasant experience.”
“Knowledgeable and friendly staff; ethical and useful goods; comfortable and logical layout. I love supporting fair trade goods and a local business all at once. I highly recommend Grassroots if you're getting gifts for friends and family, there is something for everyone - like a fun printed shirt for my boyfriend, darling earrings for my sisters, and a few assorted blends of coffee for my mom. I love this store!”
“Employe’s working were nice, pretty big selection of souvenir items, some stuff seems reasonably priced other seem a little high, was out of some sizes on clothing, over all good experience.”
“Be patient with their hours, usually Mon-Th 11-2 in the main hospital building. Elevate Alaska Native artists from all around the state, and support this totally volunteer-run store.”
“We liked shopping here because it seemed upscale but had great selecting and prices. The staff members were also very nice and helpful. Prices were overall ok, but there were also some great deals that were very attractive!

“Definitely check out this gift shop filled with tons of made in Alaska tees, wallets, purses, backpacks, scarves, hoodies, and more. Really one of a kind things that I didn’t see anywhere else. The Alaskan tribal designs on the T-shirts are phenomenal. #supportlocal”
“The owner is sweet, friendly and easy to converse with. Her work is unique and magical. I've watched her make things by hand and I've already bought quite a few pieces from her.
She takes the crystal game to a whole new level.”
“The best art shop downtown and the ONLY NATIVE OWNED AND OPERATED with authentic Ivory, baleen, mammoth ivory, wood, hand forged knives and ulus, paintings, rare prints and more!”
“I placed an online order for some Lionel-sized Alaska passenger cars and both the shop and the items exceeded my expectations. The detail on the cars is phenomenal and the deal was the very best I could find, noting there's not a whole lot of like items available due to the limited nature. I received the package about a week after the order; pleasantly surprised as I hadn't expected it this fast. Everything was packed perfectly with care and they even included a beautiful 2022 Alaska Railroad Calendar. I can't wait to visit this store in person!”

“This is not fancy, but it is a “stack it high and let it fly”…..eg. Lots of stuff at low prices. Probably the lowest prices on T-Shirts I saw in the city. Many many things to buy that have Alaska logos on them!

“This store is AMAZING ? I was looking for Coraline stuff and when one of the employees noticed they showed me where the Coraline Items where and they gave me a Coraline blanket that hadn't even come out yet!”
“A great spot in Anchorage, lots of artwork from Alaskan artists. If you want to buy a gift from a small business that supports real art, this is where you should shop.”
“Wonderful trip to Zoo with son and family. Enjoyed my favorite the tigers. Sad to see so many empty cages or no animals in view. Got postcards at the gift shop and donated to feed the tigers.”

“I wouldn’t say “high end” but has some more pricey items compared to Polar Bear Gifts. I really enjoyed their knife selection and their staff was incredibly helpful and patient. I would definitely visit again and I recommend you checking them out for your Alaska Souvenirs.”
“The cutest store in anchorage! They have so many items from gifts to clothes, jellycats, candles and so much more. Everything is so beautiful curated and displayed the staff are incredibly helpful and kind. If I ever need something for a gift this is the first place I go! 12/10!”
“Went there to buy a handmade mug that was made in Alaska. Selection was great. The mugs are dishwasher and microwave safe. Prices were very reasonable. This is an adorable shop with many nice affordable items. One of my favorite gift stores in Anchorage. Service was impeccable with questions answered and the manager being very friendly.”
