“We had such a great experience renting through Avis Alaska. Ashley in particular was a large factor to our superb experience. We had arrived to Fairbanks around 3 am and our reservation time was not until later that day. We attempted to find an Uber/Lyft to take us to our hotel, but there were none available. That is when we decided to see if there were any other options through Avis Alaska. Ashley was quick and informative with changing our reservation so that we would have a rental car right away. She was helpful, flexible, patient, and kind to not only us, but to everyone we saw her interact with. She stayed beyond her shift to ensure that we were helped at a time where all other rental agencies were closed. We feel so lucky and fortunate that she was there. Upon reading similar reviews, it is apparent that she goes above and beyond for all customers. Thanks to her, we will most definitely look to book with Avis Alaska again.”

“We were glad to find Alaska 4x4 Rentals on many different levels. The online booking through their website made the whole process very easy. Their customer service number connects you with a live, knowledgeable, and professional person on the premise that can answer any questions you may have in a timely manner. When picking up our vehicle, we were upgraded at no extra charge and the representative was very helpful with information on driving in the current conditions. They are located in the Fairbanks airport which made picking up and dropping off so easy. We were shocked to see all the corporate investment in the area which I'm sure is having a negative effect on the locally owned businesses. Alaska 4x4 Rentals is a locally owned co. which was a huge bonus for using them. Please give them a try before going with one of the big corporations. I highly recommend this co.”

“UPDATE: At lease this 4th time they gave me a working and good car! I hope I find no other issues with it. Thank you, Dollar! The staff has been helpful and professional!This DOLLAR in Fairbanks has the worst rental cars I have ever rented. First I got a car with serious windshield cracks along the entire length and at eye level. Finally I returned it. The 2nd one I got the windshield wiper does not dispense fluids. Got the 3rd car, the AC is not working!!! I wonder what will be wrong with the 4th car! Apparently they do not do any checks and inspection after a rental car is returned. Cars do not look like they were vacuumed and cleaned after each use! I tried to call DOLLAR headquarters and could only get an outsourced lady who does not know what to do about my complaint!Think twice or 3 times when you want to rent from this DOLLAR!”

“This was a fantastic car rental experience. The girls at the counter were super nice and helpful. We got a great 4WD car that didn’t even need to be plugged in during the cold weather and had no problem on the snowy roads (those that did need plugged in they provided extension chords and instructions for). It was great!”
