“Wonderful customer service! Zack helped get me and two kids outfitted with cross country skis, boots and poles. He took so much care in explaining sizing and maintenance. This was incredibly helpful to us as beginners skiers.”
“One of two locations with the other downtown. Not a half bad Alaskan outfitter with a decent selection of name brand boots, jackets, shorts, shirts and really anything else any one might need before going out and braving the elements of the last frontier.”
“Sentry Hardware is one of my favorite stores. If you can't find something hardware related they probably have it at Sentry. The last place I know of you can buy nails or screws by the pound.”
“I loved my consultative visit to Apocalypse Design! I want to customize a pink parka, and Gail is incredibly kind. She listened to and answered my thousand questions all with a smile.”
“Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. They didn't answer the phone when I called, but did give me a call back! Plenty of surplus uniforms and equipment, spanning several decades. Picked up some snow shoes and old wool field pants. Definitely some "tacticool" offerings, but overall, it's a solid stock of US (and some foreign) military gear.”
“Great customer service. They have a great variety of name brand , outdoor gear and so much more. I always spend more than I intended , because i cant help myself. ?I would rather support a local owned business, like Frontier outfitters because they give back to the community.”
“I needed a pair of good winter boots in between my mukluks and my arctic rubber boots that gives enough support for walking the dogs in varied conditions, provides good traction and is warm. I went to two other local (and locally owned) stores and quite literally could not get anyone to help me. I left both places frustrated and a friend reminded me to try beaver. I got immediate help without asking, and a manager even came down to look for a size we couldn't find and to offer her advice. They had a great selection, were knowledgeable, and the service was impeccable. Next time i need gear they'll be my first stop.”
“Had a nice holiday shopping trip today. The male cashier was helpful and so friendly. My family got a three hundred dollar gift card from a friend. Was nice, kind of higher prices with top name brands. Jordan and Nike. Sorel boots Skechers and more! I love their selection of backpacks and lunch bags with good sales throughout. Clearances were still high.”
“Always had a good experience at this location and they always have what I wanted in stock. Wish they were open longer but that isn't up to them its up to the mall and their schedule!”
“I love Sportsmans Warehouse! Lots of awesome camping gear, guns, ammo, bows, and other hunting and fishing equipment as well. The staff is always super friendly and helpful! The store is very well kept and organized. I recommend checking it out if you haven't been in there!”
“Going to Big Ray’s was THE BEST decision. My group landed in Fairbanks with most of our layers, but two of us were missing snow pants that didn’t arrive in time. We walked in expecting a standard outdoors store, but were lucky enough to be greeted by Eli.Eli talked us through everything — pros and cons of snow bib vs. snow pants, the ins and outs of different brands, and what to expect at Fairbanks. We talked about what we brought with us to get a second opinion, and he was super helpful and honest. He even showed us the best way to put on toe warmers and hunted in the back for a missing size! Really went above and beyond for us.Every night we’d go aurora chasing, the happy customers in our group would comment something like: “Dude these pants are life changing. I can’t believe I feel pretty good in -10F weather. Shout out to our guy Eli!” It became a running joke, but in all seriousness — thanks Eli! Will be returning to Big Ray’s for our next Alaska trip.”
