Big Ray's is a great store in Fairbanks for all outdoor wear needs, from winter gear to equipment for every season. It is much larger than it looks and is considered the best place for not only winter gear but also items like fly fishing gear, with a strong selection. The downtown location has a lot more to offer than the airport location. Prices are on par with expectations, but the staff makes this the place to go. They are super helpful, honest, friendly, very knowledgeable, and always go above and beyond. They talk customers through the pros and cons of items, give second opinions on gear, help find the right fit for comfort—especially for big guys—and offer great recommendations. Customers leave as happy, life-changing experiences, feeling well-prepared for extreme weather. The help is always great, making people want to return.

They help me alotttt when I first move to Alaska in 1990s see I came from LA this would be my first winter anywhere so they ask me how warm you want be help me to pick up my snow gear I don't know the owner know the person that help me was a woman I have give huge shoutout
