About Calgary Humane Society
The Calgary Humane Society is a hub for all animals in need, acting as a gateway for more meaningful lives by connecting people and animals. It supports animal welfare through adoptions, education, outreach, emergency vet services for surrendered animals, behaviour training, and enforcement of the Animal Protection Act. The organization helps animals live healthy, happy lives with the right caretaker, and helps people find the fulfilment and companionship that comes with caring for an animal. Reviews consistently describe a very professional, patient, and caring organization. Staff are noted as devoted, accommodating, enthusiastic, and kind, providing clear explanations and making processes feel easy and comfortable. The facilities are clean. Many visitors highlight wonderful adoption experiences, where animals—whether kittens, older cats, or dogs—quickly adapt at home, becoming relaxed, affectionate, and joyful companions. The society is also recommended for fun and feel-good birthday parties, handled with care and attention. Overall, the experience is summarized as warm, professional, and full of care, with many expressing high recommendation for finding a new family member.

My daughter and I come here every few weeks to visit with the animals. Since I am not in a position to own an animal the next best option is to visit them. The staff are always accommodating and the facilities are clean.
