Don's Costume Shop & Make Up Shop is a very cool store with very cool, amazing, and lovely people. Located in Calgary since 1949, it offers an interesting mix, including costumes, theatrical and special FX makeup, cosplay supplies, wigs, accessories, and even disc golf supplies. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, super sweet, and provide expert advice. The shop has an extensive selection of professional, high-grade products, not the lower-grade stuff found elsewhere. It carries all the wacky, weird, and wonderful things needed for Halloween, comic con, SFX makeup, or trad goth style. Customers can find many incredible choices to be creative and also attend amazing SFX workshops with approachable, interesting, and well-communicated teaching. The store maintains a lovely atmosphere and is highly recommended for supporting local.
I stopped in for coloured contacts but would love to come back and browse more.
They have an extensive selection of special FX / pro-FX makeup, not the dollar store or lower grade stuff you find at other costume shops.

This was a surprise of a shop as my man and I were visiting Calgary. Such a delight to run into people from the same province as ours. It's definitely an interesting mix of a store with disc golf discs and costumes. As we were there for the discs, I can say the staff were knowledgeable and helpful.
