“I donated some wine making supplies along with some other items this weekend. Everything was from my Father's estate and it was a bit emotional.
The staff I dealt with were very welcoming and friendly. They met me at the door and those friendly smiles and pleasant chit chat went a long way.
Great job weekend team !”
“I brought in a pigeon who looked poisoned and the staff was extremely friendly and took him in right away. I had a very good interaction with her. They are very caring and empathetic. Hope the pigeon males it!”
“Nice location! I dropped off some boxes I’ve had in my trunk for a while now. Plenty of parking, in front of the entrance too. Before we even got to the door, they had it opened and a bin ready to accept the donation. They were very friendly, and informed. You can also donate after hours, they have an enclosed weatherproof donation bin outside of the entrance. My only complaint is that this location doesn’t include shopping, just donations. Will return soon!”
“So glad there is an organization like this in the city that can help out with injured birds. We dropped off a Cedar Waxwing that we found injured near our home. They were very helpful and friendly”

“I was assisted by SCERDO staff, who helped me find my first job in Canada. I am grateful, and they are the best community office I have come across since I came to ??”
“This place never disappoints! We have the membership and it is absolutely worth it. The play area is so well designed for young children and I love the rotating exhibits. The Lego dinosaur one that’s on now is fantastic. The gift shop is also top notch!”
“I am incredibly thankful for Edmonton Meals on Wheels, especially to Chris H. for helping me organize meal delivery for my grandmother. The process was stress free and brought my family so much piece of mind.”

“Kindness, Awareness, and Community Safety
Did you know that a simple act of kindness can also be a powerful tool for protecting our communities? By engaging with those experiencing homelessness, we can gain valuable insights into the challenges they face, including the prevalence of drug use.
Developing the ability to recognize the signs of drug use, such as specific smells and physical indicators, is crucial for safeguarding ourselves and our neighborhoods. This isn't a skill most people possess, but it's one we can acquire.
Volunteering at a local soup kitchen offers a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about these issues. By interacting with individuals experiencing homelessness, we can develop a keen sense of observation and begin to recognize the subtle cues associated with drug use.
Imagine being able to identify a potential overdose situation before it becomes a tragedy. Or detecting drug-related activities in public spaces, allowing you to alert authorities or take necessary precautions. This knowledge empowers us to be proactive in protecting ourselves and our loved ones.
It's time to break the silence. Let's start by volunteering our time, opening our hearts, and sharpening our senses. Together, we can create safer and healthier communities for everyone.
It's essential to understand that while kindness is crucial, it's equally important to avoid actions that might inadvertently contribute to the problem. Providing money or items that can be easily exchanged for drugs can perpetuate the cycle of addiction. Instead of offering material goods that could be misused, focus on providing practical items like socks, granola bars, coffee, or even freezies on a hot day. These items offer immediate comfort and sustenance without the risk of enabling harmful behaviors. By understanding the complexities of addiction, we can offer assistance that truly empowers individuals to overcome their challenges.”
“I cannot say enough how much I love having my kids in Edmonton Junior Tennis. My son started with them just before he turned 5, and through their excellent coaching ratio and enthusiasm, has progressed through multiple levels while maintaining his love for the sport. My daughter has just started the “tennis for tots” program, and has fallen in love with the coaches, the exercises, and the games they play to teach balance and coordination. As a registered non-for-profit organization, they work hard to make the classes as reasonably priced as possible, and have a large variety of locations throughout the city. We are an EJTS family through and through.”
“Based on what I saw from the parking lot, this place looks very clean, spacious and the residents look fairly content. Not at all like the downtown location with a liquor store on the corner of the same building. It looks more like a new beginning than the end of a long dreary tunnel the old building appeared like. I hope this place will be successful for all involved.”
“It feels like your in a bunker when you downstairs for hrs and hrs strategizing about ways in how We are going to confront the challenges We face at the work place with mental illness. Never the Less The Windows Up stairs Give as much Life as we had shared down in the Basement coming up with the answers of how to defeat the battle with the mental illness challenges in the Work place. Praise God And Jesus Christ for the TRUST OF TRUTH.”

“The staff at this facility were commendable for their friendliness, knowledge, and certifications in dog first aid, demonstrating a deep commitment to the well-being of dogs. The outdoor fencing was notably secure, featuring a very tall main fence with added protection on top, supplemented by a shorter white fence and a chain link fence, providing ample security as noted from the road. This thoughtful approach to safety underscores their dedication to the care and protection of pets.”
“A really fabulous fitness facility! The staff are so friendly and always ready to help - the group classes are fantastic and cater to every level. I would never go anywhere else!!!!”
“Oh Rundle Crossing is a great place to live and the staff are great too very helpfull and knowledgable about their service and straightforward about the units that they provide and have available!”
“A great community hub. This is an older facility, so it has it’s quirks. But, they do a great job providing a variety of equipment and classes. I found a great personal trainer through there too. Membership prices are affordable because it is a non-profit. A place to focus on your health, get to know your neighbours and make friends!”

“Having recently moved, I did a massive purge on clothing. I am also a massive fan of thrift shopping so it's nice to give back too. This place is located behind Capilano Mall in an industrial estate. This is not a thrift store, it's just the drop off centre, the door at the front is where they sort the donations. If bringing items that you need any assistance moving, you can drive around the back to the loading area. The guys are helpful and super friendly. They have a voucher for a discount next time I purchase at a Salvation Army Thrift Store. They even gave me the address of the nearest location, which is in Sherwood Park. I still wish there was even a mini thrift store on site though!”

“I was extremely pleased at how well the staff was managed and how each had their roles in helping people access this service. A man welcomed people and helped keep the line organised in such a way so the clients did not have to stand outside and freeze when it was -32•C .
They were calm and helped everyone with patience addressing needs such as language barriers, disabilities - regardless of race, or identity.
To ALL THE STAFF AT NISO...
Thank you for such great service”
“Its a great place to find cheaper/used items. But some of the items for sale are over priced, so double check the price with a local store (can do a quick online search) before you buy.”

“Such a wonderful place of fellowship and sobriety. When I first came I felt lost but now it's a home away from home, and where I go when I seek comfort and understanding”
