“My dog absolutely loved his box. I was very impressed with the toys and the treats. Unfortunately he did not like the treats at this time But he loves the toys. I was very impressed with the box and it was great. It came on the day of his birthday this box was well worth than the box I was ordering from the states for him. I seen you guys ad on Facebook and wanted to order right away. Canceled the old prescription from other people and I'm so glad I did because seeing Joy on his face was so worth it I highly recommend this prescription to other dogs. I hope someday you will have a prescription for cats. We need one for Canada”
“great store, but sometimes it seems like the staff are annoyed at you for asking for assistance. one person even walked away from me before I was even finished talking to them and I had to call them back. I also asked a younger staff member for assistance getting pigeon food and she said she "wasn't sure what they had in stock" and expected me to just give up? Use some problem solving skills, man”

“I stopped by to pickup some toys for my cats birthday today, and the woman at the till (I wish I had gotten her name) was so friendly and helpful, and even gave me a little sampling of catnip to put in my cats bowl for his birthday dinner. It was my first time visiting as we’ve just purchased in the neighborhood, and I will definitely be going there exclusively from now on! Highly recommend - you don’t get customer service like this anywhere anymore.

“I'm been coming to this location for the last 4 years, either to wash my dog or get his food. The staff have always been helpful and knowledgeable.
A couple of nice perks they have is after a certain number of food purchases. The 10th bag is free depending on brand as well as after I think the 10th dog wash, the next is free. I only give it 4 stars just because the price does keep increasing for the wash. Other than that, it's been great”

“This store has a good selection, the prices are reasonable (I love that they have house brands. Shedrow and Elation products are excellent!) and the staff are really helpful, friendly and approachable. I was chatting with one of the girls there about Back on Track products and asked if she happened to know if the Thermal Therapy was any good, and she gave a hearty personal recommendation and also mentioned that they go on sale... I've successfully suited up myself, my boyfriend, and like 3 other family members in Thermal Therapy (another house brand!! Haha) and they are definitely comparable to the B.O.T., and I really appreciated the sale tip.”
“This has always been my favourite place to get “stuffies” for my dog, Bubbles. Unfortunately the inventory is not what it used to be but that’s fine with me because this groomer, ASPEN, treated my dog with so much care and precision. My old groomer said my dog, a Papillon, Pom and Cocker spaniel, needed to be shaved right down to his skin every time because he just doesn’t “do well” with grooming. So I tried this groomer at Pet Planet and she groomed him entirely with just scissors. I told her to do whatever she had to do to get him through it (including shaving) and she looked horrified by the thought. She straight up said “I’m not in the business of just shaving dogs if they’re difficult. He clearly does not enjoy being groomed but I made sure to cut everything evenly.” I was SO happy to see him with at least 2 inches of hair still on him and he looked soooo perfect. He didn’t have to deal with feeling uncomfortable all shaved and naked feeling (he’s got VERY long shaggy hair with a Pom face and papillon ears). I meant to write this review ages ago and finally remembered that this woman deserves her shine. She explained to me how important cutting his nails were and that his back legs were off when he walked as his nails were way too long. I truly felt like she cared about him and he wasn’t just a dollar sign to her. I asked if I could bring him back to her and she happily agreed. GO ASPEN GO! Amazing at her job and very affordable for all that she did. I can’t thank her enough.”

“I have been a customer of this store for over 15 years. They built a customized aquarium and cabinet around that time.
I have read some of the negative reviews which can’t be further from the truth from my experience along with my friends and family.
It seems easy for negative reviewers to try and hurt a small business when they don’t like the answer they are getting or need someone to blame.
From the owners, Randy and Lori, to the staff I have interacted with over the years, they genuinely care about your success in the hobby and together with me, come up with solutions when things might not work out.
The saltwater hobby has its challenges as equipment will fail in a saltwater environment at some point. Aquarium Illusions will always try and make it right whether it be ordering a piece of equipment , fish etc.
Hobbyists who have fish that die on them suddenly can result from improper acclimation procedures, stress, or adaption to your reef habitants. A copper band butterfly is a demanding species to introduce. I’ve had that experience with them as my tangs killed it. I took a chance and didn’t work out. Not AI’s fault but we discussed this result might happen.
The staff is probably the most knowledgeable in our city. The coral and fish stock levels are constantly being maintained. They certainly can give you updates when next shipments are coming in.
Over the years, I have dealt with Ron, Shawn, Craig, Amber and now Chris, Derek and Destiny and others I’m forgetting who have been professional, respectful, valued opinions, options etc. If they don’t know, they get back to me. What else would you want from a specialized store.”
“We stopped here out of curiosity and we were really happy that we did! The storefront is a little small, but I believe they have many birds in back rooms. Once through the door you are immediately aware of the myriad of bird voices, some talking, some singing, and some calling for attention. We enjoyed watching the interactions between a green parrot and a Macaw in the cage right next to him. Every time the green bird would start singing (lovely voice and tune) the Macaw would yell "SHUT UP" and the green one would, for a bit, until the pattern would continue to cycle between them. They see wildbird and exotic bird items, including seeds and great bird feeders! They have small to large exotic birds of all kinds. The babies were adorable, and I was introduced to a 4 year old "parrotlet" who was still very tiny. I learned from chatting with the staff there that these birds live for 100 years, and owners have to make provisions in their wills to ensure their birds are taken care of after they pass.
Staff were super helpful and friendly. The store was clean. The birds are all healthy and happy looking. Lots of info/experience available if you have questions about birds and their optimal care and environment. I will be visiting again!
Also I should mention that this store is also available for boarding birds, if you need that type of service.”
“I take my dog here for baths and I’m so thankful for the ability to not have to use my own tub at home to do it! The staff have always been great, and I really cannot understand why there are complaints on here about a 30 minute time limit… I have a lab and am always in and out in 15 mins. Thank you for the dog wash service!”

“Homes Alive is hands-down my favourite pet store to visit. Besides the amazing selection and great deals, the staff here are absolutely wonderful.
I had a particularly great experience at this store today. After opening my car door to bring my dog with me, she slipped from my grasp and bolted. I was overcome with sheer panic, stress, and helplessness as I watched her sprint away. Thankfully, she ran into the store instead of onto the streets and the kind staff at Homes Alive managed to grab and hold on to her until I caught up. As embarrassed and distraught as I was, they made light of the situation and normalized the occurrence. When I went to purchase my items, they joked about the situation again and politely engaged in conversation as I rattled off details about my dog’s history as a rescue. As we chatted, they spoiled her with treats and gave us multiple samples of food to take home.
Thank you very much to the two ladies who helped me! This experience truly made my day and I am so grateful for your help and kindness.”
