“I went into Ortega’s while visiting Carefree, AZ in April 2026 because their store is near my Aunt’s house. The associate who helped me was kind, patient and explained many details about the work they carried. I set my eye on a silver ring with beautiful blue opal stone and guitars on the side. It was on sale and I was very impressed with Max, the owner. I returned with my Aunt because she has a keen understanding of local artisans, businesses, owners, etc. She, too, was impressed with Max, the attention to detail on the ring and history of the artist, a Navajo from Gallego, NM. I needed the ring to be resized and Max arranged this and shipped it to me. This was a great investment and I will absolutely do business with Max and Ortega’s again. Great store to support!”

Did not find the polished chrysocolla I was looking for, but did come away with a very nice polished malachite. Pleasant and helpful sales person bubble wrapped the piece for me.
