“I’ve been supporting Ironwood Pig Sanctuary for about 15 years. I originally adopted one of the pigs, but he eventually passed away, so I kept the payment going for general support. The place was founded by a women who wanted to provide a place for the large number of “mini pigs” that people buy and then find out that there is no such thing as a mini pig. These pigs generally get over 100 pounds, some over 300 pounds. These pigs are left at shelters or are just generally neglected and discarded. Mary takes them in and gives them a safe and comfortable place to live out their lives. They do tours on Saturdays, by reservation via their website. Updated from previous review on 2025-03-23”

“We adopted our two kittens here and the staff were wonderfully! They were so sweet throughout the adoption process and gave us plenty of tips and encouragement. Months later they even helped me know how to care for a found kitten and gave me all the resources I needed to help her be found. They are wonderful people who truly care about animals!”

“Dan is great --- We've had nothing but positive experiences here since he's been the one receiving our donations. Don't be put off by some of the older reviews.”
