“Would have been perfect if the volunteer who checked us out didn't have her nose DRIPPING from allergies. Enough that she held a tissue under her nose and then checked us out with the same hands.”

“Just had a great experience shopping at Third Eye Thrift. Logan (one of the owners) was super helpful and entertained my useless banter while I shopped. He also made some great recommendations on other shops/areas to check out.Walked out with a super faded pair of dickies (which I’ve been looking for). Definitely had a solid selection and will most certainly be back when I have more time shop!Definitely check Third Eye Thrift if you’re into thrifty/vintage threads and things!”

“More than an antique shop. There is a variety of clothes, furniture, housewares, and so many great pinball tables. The owner seems cool and not at all pushy. This would be a great place to hang out and see if you really like the furniture, maybe play some pinball and enjoy the vintage vibes.”

“Prices were great!!! Super affordable. It seems everyday one color tag is $1, and another colored tag is 50% off. Makes shopping more fun. Selection (and prices) typical of a goodwill, not curated like a buffalo exchange. I would recommend if you're looking mainly for clothes. Employees were very helpful and busy keeping the store organized and clean. Easy to navigate the sizes. -1 star because fitting rooms were not open!! I think that's a real shame; I'm sure more folks like myself would be willing to buy more pieces if they could try them on to make sure they fit! I believe they allow returns within 10 days but only for store credit (and the $1 pieces & xmas items are final sale).”

“Stopped in for the first time after donating. It's clean, organized and the staff is friendly. This will now be the only place I donate to. They only sell good items. No tears, no stains. They have a monthly Calendar & scorecard so that you can get discounts. They give 25% off for donations. And it's well stocked with military discounts on Tuesday. They have discounts every Wednesday. I'm so glad I found this place. Love supporting a business that helps veterans Bonus I found a frame for my characturist, $3.00. Win-win”

“I really like Stardust Building Supplies. Stardust is a nonprofit thrift shop offering salvaged & used building materials. I have been recycling for years as I hate throwing things in the landfill. I take any usable construction materials to Stardust. They don't take everything like used carpet, open containers of grout and some other items. I have found quite a few hard to find things there like cabinet doors, drawer fronts, ceramic tile that is no longer in stock and appliances. One time I found a granite sink top that was in great condition. The pictures are the master bath sink that was already there. I was able to find a sink top for the hall bath that matched and was about one third the cost of a new one. It is a plus that you can return things that don't work albeit it has to be within in a few days. Like all thrift stores this is a treasure hunt. Some things are beat up and some are in good shape. They have limited employees so there is not really anyone to help you find things. They also support the animal rescue called Lost Our Home and have one section for large donations like furniture and art.”

“Can’t stop shopping here every weekend! The store employees are so nice and they always answer my questions. Very clean and organized inside. Don’t forget to sign up for their e-mail newsletters for new items/deals!”

“I have been coming here since I was 7 years old. I am now 52.This store is big and offers a huge variety! They are overpriced on clothing. At least compared to other thrift in the city. I would give five stars if it weren’t for the prices on clothing. The prices are very reasonable on non-clothing items, of all varieties. I often find vintage merchandise here. The staff is very friendly. The building is clean. Parking is always available. There are dressing rooms available . The person running the register is always friendly.Overall this place is definitely worth checking out.”

“I love this place! They’re always running some sort of sale and have a great selection. Clothes are separated by style, not size, but as someone who loves to hunt for the perfect item I don’t mind! Definitely come here when you have an open afternoon. You’ll find a lot!”

“Very clean inside, the staff is very friendly as well. All items are priced great except the clothes. Clothing was priced too high for a thrift shop. Aside from that I highly recommend stopping by.”

“One of my favorite thrift stores! Well organized and the staff is amazing. Some of my recent finds are this 1989 Angels All Star Game sweater and a Y2K style Liz Claiborne handbag. They are always having sales/markdowns, making it a true "thrift" experience.”

“Very helpful to the community at large. With rising costs in everything, it gives those with food insecurity a place to receive quality food. Also allows who could not otherwise afford furniture and small appliances a place to go to get quality items for their home.”

“The cashier was very kind and sociable. Very upbeat, sociable, and eager to help. I asked for her name and she told me Kristin. She actually was concerned cuz she thought she had done something wrong when I asked for her name. I told her that i wanted to write a review on my customer service experience at this location. . I'm glad I went into the store on 03/25/2023 in the afternoon.”

“It is doing a great service for this local community and it will receive all my future donations to the thrift store there. It funds the food bank there that provides a huge service directly to the local community.”

“Goodwill is the real-life version of The Price Is Right. Hidden treasures are just within your grasp if you manage to find yourself in the right place at the right time. As a person who takes thrifting seriously, the abundance of second-hand goods here in Phoenix is definitely a welcome relief. It is also uplifting to know that at least a portion of the millions AND MILLIONS! Of people in this metropolitan area choose to donate unused or unwanted items instead of sending them to the landfill. The Great Barrier Reef, the Ozone, & myself, of course, all thank you! This particular Goodwill is extremely well maintained, & from the items that I saw, the location features an eclectic variety of items. Typically, the sorting staff has the final say on what does or doesn't pass the eye test & ultimately ends up on the floor. So whoever the curators are seems to have a keen eye for fashionable items. My experience at this location definitely went above and beyond my expectations. This is due in large part to the manager who was working during my visit on October 10, 2023. Without going too deep into the entire conversation, I asked for an accommodation, appealing to the empathy of the Goodwill staff, which at first was denied by the cashier but then was approved by the manager. I can't begin to express how grateful I am for the act of kindness shown by this particular Goodwill manager. Good things happen to good people, & I guarantee the cosmic forces will reward that individual 10 fold due to the judgment that they more than likely use on a day-to-day basis. My respect, Goodwill, you absolutely nailed it with this person. The right person got promoted for sure, & I wish them nothing but happiness and success going forward. If you're looking to visit this location during your MLB fan experience, I STRONGLY SUGGEST IT! However, Mesa isn't the most POC-friendly area on earth, so I advise that you use caution when visiting. But with this goodwill, your money is always good here. There may be other locations, but this one will value not only your business but will also treat you in a respectful manner. As you can see from my other reviews, I have not had the most pleasant experiences lately. So this location was definitely a breath of fresh air! However! At great personal risk to myself, I write these reviews based on my experiences so that others will benefit from the experiences that I have. I encourage others to SPEAK UP! Your voice can assist others in avoiding potentially detrimental situations, & as always, do your own research!”

“This goodwill is one of the better ones I’ve been to in the area for clothing! The selection of vintage clothing was abnormally good and the price was amazing compared to the other goodwill locations in the Phoenix area.”

“Hardworking disabled staff, everyone in the store is very friendly but will leave you alone to browse quietly, no annoying music, organized well, visible prices, no perfume smell like many thrift stores have. Some of it is more expensive but someone spent the time to add descriptions and even print website listings to justify the price. You can tell a lot of time and thought is put into the prices; most stuff is cheap. I got a cool triangular jar and the sturdiest kitchen spoon I've ever seen. I don't think Hercules himself could bend it.”

“The few times I’ve been down and out in my life I’ve seen some really unsafe, questionable, unclean institutions and establishments, and that’s more often the case than not (think places like CASS!).A New Leaf, however, was a much different experience for me. They gave me safe housing for over 3 months when I was fleeing a physically violent relationship, they provided me plenty of food, bus & light rail passes, and even threw some gifts to the residents living there when a couple holidays came around, which was above expectation.I would definitely stress to everyone that if you are in one of their shelters, you absolutely must be there to check in for the night by midnight, and stay there until 5 am. No exceptions. If you miss a night you might be alright, but after a couple missed nights they will remove you from your spot because they are required to in order to justify your being there and to keep receiving their funding. That’s pretty much why I ended up having to leave. Because I started wanting to spend a night here or there offsite, and if you do that enough, they will figure you have another option for housing. I also felt they could’ve done a better job screening incoming men to the facility to ensure they a) weren’t just claiming to be victims when they were the actual abusers, and b) using drugs and/or alcohol on the premises and spinning out of control. On two occasions while I was staying there, men had to be kicked out for making death threats and being crazy destructive and breaking things in blind rage, and I thought how ironic. Here they are claiming to be fleeing abuse, all the while exhibiting textbook domestic violence offender behavior.Only because of this ongoing issue not feeling safe, I give A New Leaf 4 stars. They get almost all of it right, and maybe since 2019, they’ve fixed some of the issues I had when I was there. I will say I am very grateful for their services and I’ve recommended them to other people in abusive relationships who need a fresh start and a safe place to live until they can figure out the next move. Thank you, New Leaf!”

“This location is much better than others. Large selection of mens casual clothes. Store is clean & well lit. The staff here are attentive and friendly. I think because of this stores location, they might getting a little bit nicer donations. I have purchased many golf shirts here. Big selection of movies & books. I even find video game carts here. I’ve purchased golf clubs here also.”

“I love this Store. As an Employee that works there and as a customer who shops there when allowed. This is the first job I've have in a while where the management treats you like a HUMAN and not a machine. They actually care if your not feeling well or get hurt on the job or if you have a child to tend to. I've had all three . It's nice to see them not judge a person based off how they dress or tattoos like my old job did. Thank you for taking the time to review my notes. Have a happy new year.”

“A really great Goodwill! In search of suits for my husband and impressed with how big the store is. Customer service is terrific here and I was in the store while the manager was in - really liked his energy with his team. I will be back! The store is clean, well-organized, and doesn't carry that generic thrift-store smell.”
