This place is awesome! Had some last minute needs and they were the only place in town that had exactly what I needed, super friendly and helpful, a little out of my way but definitely worth the time. It was my first time there, so of course I had to browse, very well stocked, my new 1st choice for hiking gear.

I've been going to the Arizona Hiking Shack for years, and for good reason. The staff are exceptionally knowledgeable on gear and make excellent suggestions whenever I make a visit. They have a vast selection of gear from various top-name brands at a great value. I'd recommend these cats over REI anytime!
Founded in 1972, Arizona Hiking Shack began in a 10' x 20' Miner's line shack in the deserts of Phoenix, Arizona. In July, 2011 we moved to our new 11,000 sq ft conveniently located building. Since 1972, the Arizona Hiking Shack, aka "The Shack", has been catering to the needs of the serious hiker, backpacker, river runner, climber, caver, prospector and mountaineer by providing the best equipment available.
