Safeway Liquor is a good, well-organized, well-stocked, and clean grocery store in the midtown area. It is the closest grocer for many in the neighborhood, though there are not many other shopping choices nearby. A common downside is how busy it can get. The store is generally kept clean, and employees are often noted as really nice, friendly, and always smiling and greeting customers. Many cashiers are friendly enough to strike up a conversation, and customer service representatives are helpful. Specific departments also receive praise; the meat department, for instance, has friendly staff who offer good advice. The store features a Starbucks inside that is described as perfect, friendly, quick, and fast. However, some issues are noted. Stock seems very low a lot, though this is acknowledged as a widespread issue. The deli has cut back, which is disappointing for those who loved its good sandwiches. The pharmacy staff can sometimes seem not well informed and can be short with customers. The parking lot presents challenges; it can be busy, and parking is sometimes difficult due to narrow, smaller spaces. Some customers park awfully, double park, or use the pick up only spots or fire lane improperly, which is a concern. There have been instances of people almost being hit in the parking lot. A tip offered is to park further away. While Safeway costs more than other chains, it is viewed as having nicer stores and cheaper gas. Overall, despite the drawbacks, it usually provides a good shopping experience.

This Safeway is a good one. The only downside is how busy it can get being one of a few grocery stores in the midtown area. Everything is well organized, well stocked, and kept clean. Half of the cashiers are friendly enough to strike up a conversation.

I have loved my Safeway for a decade now. The experience is what you make it and it's a crowded neighborhood with lots of folks there. The cashiers, managers, customer service have always treated me like their only customer. We don't stop enough to say the good things and today is the day for me to catch up. Thank you Safeway.
