VNSA Used Book Sale & Book Donations is a nonprofit organization that accepts donations of books, CDs, DVDs, records, puzzles, and games year-round. Their annual book sale takes place each February in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Arizona State Fairgrounds. The event is free to attend, but the fairgrounds charge $12 for parking. The book sale is a highly anticipated event for book lovers, with a vast selection of books in great condition on every topic imaginable. Visitors can easily find what they're looking for, and it's just as easy to take home a bag or two full of books. Attendees are encouraged to make a list of books they want beforehand, but also to be flexible, as sometimes a book just seems to pick them. The VNSA staff is helpful and knowledgeable, always willing to assist visitors or discuss books that might interest them. Visitors are advised to wear comfortable shoes and bring a bag or two to carry their book finds. The proceeds from the annual sale benefit two Valley nonprofits: the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation and Literacy Volunteers of Maricopa County. Book lovers and volunteers alike praise the VNSA Used Book Sale & Book Donations as a highlight of the year and a great way to make a difference.
