“Best part of February is when I get to go and purchase books. It’s easy here to find what your looking for and just as easy to take home a bag or two full of books. I would suggest making a list of books you want before going to help keep your goal books you want. Also have flexibility because sometimes a book just seem to pick you sometimes. Great people there to help you along the way if you need help or just want to talk about books that might also interest you. I will say reading others peoples take on books I would not normally get got me to step out of my normal. Your first time going make sure you have good shoes and be in comfy outfit and being a bag or to that can hold the book that chose to come home with you”

“Very cool little space, lots of great books. A selection of black authors and literature that you're just aren't going to get compressed into one place anywhere else. Staff was really friendly, the smoothie I had was delicious and had no extra sugar. I'll definitely make another stop here when I'm in Phoenix in the future.”

“Very well stocked Christian bookstore with a focus on LDS items but they have a lot of beautiful picture cards of Jesus and nice home decor signs and Demdaco angels for any religious person to enjoy as well. They have a very nice shelf of journals in both bound and spiral as well as inspirational stickers. Very pleased with my visit!”

“Barnes and Noble in general is amazing; this particular one is especially awesome. Friendly and helpful staff, wide variety of books and other items such as journals, lap desks, etc. I frequent this store, it is a home away from home. Totally recommend going here. Also, the cafe area inside is a great place to work on stuff such as writing a book of your own.”

“A little jewel of a store. These kinds of places are slowly becoming extinct. In fact, the owner stated that he was one of only five in Arizona. This store is jampacked with all kinds of books. Some books are very old and some are some locked books in cases. Most titles are easy to find as he has alphabetize a lot of selections. Overall very easy to browse. There's actually a couch and some chairs if you want to sit and read for a while. Lots of well-known authors for fiction and nonfiction so that you can curl up with a book or when you want something to read on a trip, or some time off. Just beware of the mess. There's stacks of books everywhere and lots of books that are waiting to be sorted. Also, another point is that he does buy books regularly so if you have some titles interest, it would be good to run them by. The only unfortunate part is that the landlord, who he rents from is negligent. So the parking lot is disheveled and needs repair, the store, fronts signs, and all of the above also are in disrepair. In fact, the day I came in the air conditioning wasn't not working on a 113' day. Very sad anyone would treat another human that way. Especially the tenant who rents from you.”

“The shop and personnel are terrific. If you want to find the best in American Indian jewelry, rugs, pottery and creations of all types visit the shop with well educated and helpful personnel. From modern items to cases of antique treasures you will find it here. And after finding something visit the great Museum and the Restaurant. One of the best Posoles and turkey, brie and cranberry sandwiches around. It is worth the visit and spending time.”

“Nice place. Tons of books for everyone in a family.Plus lots of (vinyl) records, DVD's, CD"S, collectables and more. They also buy back books and just about everything they sell. Just remember they are a business and you may not get as much as you may think your items are worth.Pretty much the world runs on supply and demand. So if they have 8 copies of the same book you have and only sell 1 a month they may not buy your book or whatever you are looking to sell to them. And the bad thing is you either take what they offer or put it back in your car. In other words there is NO negotiating. But I would strongly suggest taking your kids there and get them started reading books.Remember, there is nothing better than teaching your children to read and encourage them to READ MORE!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Edited review with add in from owners response - Very small bookstore. It does have some parking right out front, which is nice. I was welcomed upon entry which is nice. Response from owner -Backroom with seating as well seating in gallery space, picnic tables, benches and a hammock in our backyard.- during my visit the Court yard/back yard had vendors which was a nice touch.”

“Book Gallery is a not so secret spot that feels like a well-kept secret. It's a secondhand book store that is bulging at every corner with rare, collectible, and some current titles stacked and stuffed into aisles of tall wood bookshelves. There were boxes filled with books not shelved, rows and rows of Arizona Highway magazine, and tall stacks of leather bound National Geographic. You could spend hours finding something you were never looking for. It feels like walking through someone's attic stuffed with years of collecting, and yet at the same time, you get the sense that the owner knows exactly where everything is. It's quiet and worn and to any book lover it's the most beautiful sight...and smell.”

“I stopped by since it was walking distance from my hotel. I realized that it had been at least 15 years, if not more, since my last visit to a Barnes and Noble. Was reminded of my previous visits in the past though vastly smaller. Still it was a good relaxing experience. I regret having not purchased the books I wanted but did not have space in my suitcase. Will do that on line though.”

“I love the niche things in life including this store! Wide World Maps is a chain and is really specific but what they do, they do well. The interior feels a lot like waling into a book store and the vibe definitely carries once you talk to the store manager. If you have any questions, and you probably should if you're walking into this place, the front desk manager will be able to help you with the intelligence and experience of a seasoned librarian who knows exactly where every book in their library is. If you like learning and looking at maps, dreaming about visiting remote areas some day this, is the spot for you. A really fun aspect of walking into the store is asking what sorts of interesting maps they carry. I personally really loved the map of Phoenix superfund sites created by FEMA. It's beautiful enough to hang on a wall but still useful enough to reference it several times per month. My favorite aspect of wide world is the funny collection of people who come in to shop. The whole store is full of quirky interesting people who will talk your ear off about an interesting map they discovered in a garage sale. You'll have a blast just socializing here. Finally, I will add, even though the prices f the maps aren't cheap, their quality reflects in the price. Every map I have purchased here is an awesome, high quality, doesn't rip or fade, and is awesome to look at.”

Not only do I appreciate the incredible assortment of inventory that includes books, CD's, DVD's, videos and video rentals, and lovely and inspiring gifts for friends (and me!), I also treasure the people who run it--Julia and Beth--and also the many loving volunteers who help to keep it running smoothly. “The Phoenix Street Atlas is the best tool for navigating the city and while not cheap it's well worth the cost. I've been using the Atlas for most of the 40 years it's been published and am still amazed at how many pages have been added in that time.”

“Pastor Mark is a loving, caring man who goes above and beyond to share the love of Jesus. The people are also very loving and kind. I highly recommend this church. They teach directly from the word of God. I love this church and have been blessed by all the teachers and staff for many years. Jesus is coming soon, so if you don't know him as your personal savior, stop by the church and speak with someone. Jesus loves you.”

“Driving up to the building is impressive and entering it is bookworm's wonderland. I like the fountain that's inside which gives it a nice outdoor and calm relaxing feeling. A great place to get away from it all when you just want to read in an air conditioned building and staying out of the heatwave.”
