Overall, this shop is filled with a decent selection of retro used items. The prices can vary, and sometimes a little pricier than I've seen at local thrift stores and similar reshare shops. I've frequented for over 20 years, and always try to stop in when in the area as it is always a unique find. I do find it a little more difficult to find plus size items, but that is the nature of retro items. The staff has always been great at greeting when you enter, and friendly when you check out. I always recommend this place to friends and family in the area, and will stop in the near future as well.

There's no need to address people coming in to your store rudely, right off the bat. Really odd social skills some of the employees of this location have. Just a reminder for those that don't know- The employees are allowed to purchase the items you sell to them so they often price things lower bc they want them. Conflict of interest.

Complete waste of time and effort. Took several items of clothing most new and unused with tags on them and they took maybe 4 items. I was completely shocked since I've been to this particular location in Tempe on Mill Ave several times and I've seen the clothes they sell here. Most of the items on the racks are visibly used and some with unintentional stains and tears. The only difference is the sizes. Then again considering the location I guess I shouldn't be surprised at any items bigger than a size 4 being rejected. Very disappointing. Service was subpar but again location matters.

Tonight marks the end of a 20-year relationship I had with Buffalo Exchange, both as a seller and a customer at Buffalo locations NATIONWIDE. My first job was actually at the Tempe location in 2007. I have LOVED buying and selling with the company, but recently have had poor experiences in the Phoenix and Tempe stores. Tonight was the last straw. Around 6:30pm, I went to Tempe to shop and found a Prada boot that I wanted for $300. I explained to the genuinely lovely cashier that I was going to run home and gather some things to trade in for the boots since they were kinda pricy. She put them on hold for me and I said I would be back before closing to sell my things. I went home, gathered the items to sell--even took the time to steam them--and rushed back to the Tempe store. I walked in at 7:45, and was greeted as I sat down in line at the buy counter. After sitting in line for five minutes, a red-haired employee said "actually, we might not be able to get to you since we close in ten minutes." I asked her why she didn't say anything when I first walked in. Then she said, "well, you're welcome to hang out and see how it goes." Excuse me? As the clock ticks, she continues to move at a snail like pace through the buys ahead of me, as to purposely not do my buy. She then announces to the entire buy line that she won't be able to buy from anyone...after allowing them all to sit down and waste their time waiting to sell. At that point--after wasting a trip to and from my house, and time steaming and preparing several nice items to sell--I told her I'd been shopping at Buffalo for 20 years and was never turned away after arriving FIFTEEN ENTIRE MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING. She proceeded to argue with me and raise her voice. I was appalled at this employee's laziness, unprofessionalism, and REACTIVE attitude. The buy line was not that long, there was a total of 3 people (and we all arrived within a reasonable time for her to complete our buys) and she was intentionally moving slowly to turn all the sellers away because she wanted to go home. Frankly, she should be reminded that the sellers are why she even has a job. How dare this young woman raise her voice at me... and act like the people bringing merchandise to the store that employs her are an inconvenience. Completing my buy, and the other sellers behind me, would have taken and additional 7 minutes. And clearly, since she was standing next to her store manager when this happened, such behavior is being condoned by management. And for this reason, I will never support this company again or enter any of the stores again. I encourage you all to look at your competitors for refreshers on BEST PRACTICES, with an emphasis on customer service and basic professionalism. You're welcome for my purchase of the $300 boots even AFTER this employee disrespected me! Last purchase I'll ever be making, after spending 6 figures in stores across the nation over the last 10 years. Regretfully, Kam M

don't waste your time the employees do not take any clothes, even brands like Levis, Free People, Urban, etc. ALL the brands you see them sell there. Even if there is little wear, or almost none in my opinion. I just found this odd because I see the things they sell there, so I was shocked to see they did not take my things. On top of that, I brought 3 bags of clothes and the worker only looked through 2 before telling me they cannot take my clothes. Sad to see what the store is turning into. Overselling and not sticking to what the store was about when it first opened

If I could give this place zero stars, trust me I would. I know the risk about selling my clothes to this 2nd Hand store, but I didn't realize 6 hoodies and multiple hats from big brands are only worth $37 all together. I got offered $37 from this establishment. I will not return to this terrible establishment for any reason. Just a bunch of kids that don't know anything about clothes are the total value. I even had a friend show up with brand new $160 pair of Jordan's. Just for them to offer only $30.

Don't bother trying to shop or consign here unless you're a college student with super "trendy" clothes. The 2 staff members that assisted me when I attempted to consign were very snooty and condescending. Which is ironic since you work at a second hand store, not a high end boutique where that kind of attitude is typically "expected". Staff called my clothes "outdated and not trendy" right to my face and only took 2 of the pile of items I brought. My clothes are high quality and the majority were bought just within the year and many just within the last couple of months (a lot of the items still had a tag on). But somehow they're outdated? And even if they were outdated, isn't this supposed to also be a vintage store? When does something become vintage instead of outdated? I'm glad that I've always chosen cash instead of store credit because I won't be coming back.

I've given up thinking Buffalo Exchange will be like it was when I was a kid. It used to be full of cool and unique vintage pieces. It also had timeless classic pieces as well. I look at the racks; now it's full of fast fashion. I see shein and other cheap wholesale clothing at essentially retail price. The buyers are not consistent whatsoever. I brought some '90s dresses and '90s mesh clothing and the buyer told me they were looking for sweaters and Halloween costumes and my style wasn't what they were looking for. I just ended up taking it elsewhere and sold them just fine. I am done selling here and buying. The quality is gone and the staff is not consistent.

I've had great luck selling and buying here. Staff is super friendly, whether they're greeting you when you walk in or chatting up your goods while selling. I've found some solid shoe options with good, quality wear left in them. I like their selection of pants and blouses/tops (size and style) as compared to the downtown PHX spot. I've found a few designer pieces at practically no cost. Love coming here every few weeks to check out what they've rotated in.

I stopped in today to sell some costume jewelry and Michael Kors shoes. I was fortunate enough to sell the shoes. Staff was friendly, helpful, and informative. I received an option of store credit or cash. I looked at jewelry and came home with a stunning ring and with more cash than I left with. The experience made a historically painful day into a beautiful one. ⭐? ✌️

I have sold stuff here multiple times here but last time was humiliating. They tore my bag open and then took very little saying the rest was aged and stained. There were three new dresses in there, brand name, never worn. They didn't take those, but the other stuff even though like most of their product was worn but clean and not stained. So they gave me my stuff back besides some jewelry, didn't offer a new bag to hold my items and laughed when everything spilled out. Asked the cashier for a garbage bag and stuffed what I could back in so I could leave, other than that no help was offered. It was embarrassing, the women that looked through my things were rude. They mostly talked and laughed as I waited much longer than the "5 minutes" she originally said. Will never come here again sadly. I thought it was a open and kind place but the new girls are awful and judge you openly.

Interesting this was the owners stance on pricing items brought in by a seller 4 years ago... fast forward to today and Buffalo Exchange thinks it's OK to sell used items for double what a retail store is selling thr same item for. Shoes I found today priced 42$... looked online Nordstrom's Rack selling same shoe NEW for 23.98... Buffalo Exchange your mission statement needs an overhaul as your store thinks pricing items for more than they are currently selling NEW Retail is completely exceptable. Hmmmm doesn't jive with what the owner wrote 4 years ago. ?♀️??♀️Buffalo Exchange (Owner)4 years agoHi Emma,We’re sorry to hear about your selling experience. We buy in items based off the style, condition and what is currently selling well in the store. For any items we’re able to buy, we offer 30% in cash or 50% in store credit of our selling price. Being a recycled clothing shop, we can’t price the pieces anywhere near the original retail cost. So we work hard to offer our sellers a fair payout and our shoppers a good price. We hope you can give us another try and appreciate your feedback.Best, Savy

It was my first time at Buffalo exchange. I love thrifting so I'm always looking for a new spot. The staff was friendly and helpful and they had tons of really cool pieces. A bit on the pricy side for second hand but since it's largely brand name stuff I guess that's why. I bought two items and have worn them a bunch already

This store has changed a lot over the years. Not the same atmosphere there once was. Lots to look at, cool t-shirts but not much of a selection on name brands like Levi, Nike, Adidas like there use to be. Fair prices

this store is trash ever since the new store manager got hired they dont buy the way they did driving 30 mins so they can say they passing on all curated pieces and its also shady that they have a note section on your buffalo account to let others not to buy from have hr get ahold of me i want to talk about this matter ....
