7743 E Broadway Blvd, TucsonAmazing place! There are two doggy ice cream/ treat/ donut places here and Tucson, this is my favorite. After a somewhat unwelcoming experience at the other local establishment Dogs and Donuts totally flipped us around! Huge variety with amazing staff!

Old Town Horse and Pet
5665 W Ajo Hwy, TucsonWe had a great experience here while looking for a saddle. Kelsee was amazing and made it fun too. She must have pulled 6 or 7 saddles for my husband to try, just to find out what style and size he preferred. Kelsee got it narrowed down for us and provided a lot of information too. We were even able to take the saddle home to try it, with the ability to return it if it didn't suit horse and rider. We are really impressed! It's a 45 minute drive for us and we drove back a second time to get a few other things because of the great service. They have a large selection of new and used tack. Be sure to pay them a visit. Thanks Kelsee!!!!!!?

Sublime Grooming
2608 E Fort Lowell Rd, TucsonThat was the easiest experience by far as of yet I have not even gotten my foot in the door to get my dog’s nails cut because she’s kind of extra and a low-key aggressive Chihuahua. But that was no factor for the salon. They got her in right away didn’t put a muzzle on her. I was able to hold her while josh clipped her nails. He used one method for the back nails, and when that method wasn’t working for the front paws he switched his method up and didn’t continue trying where he was struggling and it was an overall amazing experience. I’ll definitely be back and refer this company to anyone with a difficult dog.

Kindred Spirits Pet Services
3544 N Romero Rd Suite 148, TucsonKindred Spirits offers a wonderful service. My malamute, Olly was diagnosed with bone cancer and declined fast. I made an appointment with Dr. Barrett to come to the office. On the day of the appointment, I decided it was too traumatic to transport Olly. Dr. Barrett and her assistant compassionately accommodated me and rescheduled to come to my location.
I was nervous about the procedure, but it was a very peaceful experience from the moment they arrived. Dr. Barrett was very patient and made sure we were ready to proceed with each step. She was very gentle performing the steps, and I had complete confidence in her. Olly passed without any stress, and they took his body away and I knew he was in the care of loving hands. I chose not to receive any remains, and she let me know that her and her family spread the ashes of all the pets that they help if not returned to the owner.
They also gave me a booklet to read on how to cope with the grief of losing a pet which was very helpful. I highly recommend Kindred Spirits.

Feline Limited Cat Clinic
3250 N Campbell Ave # 124, TucsonShout out to Jessica, who on my very first phone call to the clinic spent 38 minutes with me on the phone discussing every single concern I have about my cat. She is even knowledgeable in blood chemistry which is not common usually to have someone who answers the phone in reception to have this background. She also has knowledge in different sedatives that would be helpful to calm my cat who becomes a demon at a veterinary clinic. Lastly, she gave me concrete price estimates right over the phone, which I appreciated. I'm very impressed with her knowledge, caring disposition and patience and that is why I made an appointment. If my visit turns out anything close to the treatment I received from Jessica over the phone then I will be ecstatic.
Edit: I have been going to this clinic ever since. Dr. Upchurch is experienced and even more so for the sheer fact that she sees only cats so she has that much more exposure to feline ailments. She has diagnosed my cat with pemphigus foliaceus, which is extremely rare but she had a hunch right away what it was and knew what tests to order to get a confirmation. Ive seen people online go on for months with undiagnosed pemphigus on their cats because the vets don't know what they are looking at. Thanks to Dr. Upchurch, I was not one of those unfortunate people and my cat got relief very quickly.
She also just diagnosed my other cat with feline resorptive lesions. I am so lucky have Dr. Upchurch as my vet.
One of my cats is a screamer and turns into the hulk at the vet. Dr. Upchurch is the only one that knows how to handle him properly. Every other vet that I have seen struggles handling my difficult cat but Dr. Upchurch has a special touch and she just knows how to handle them.
In addition, her prices are reasonable and cheaper than other vets.
I still strongly recommend this clinic.

Anthony's K-9 Services
7151 E Tamara Dr, TucsonAnthony was a game changer for us. Our rescue pup Miles (part Saint Bernard/part Belgian Malinois) is 75 lbs, extremely strong, and ultra social! He's not the least bit aggressive but would drag my husband and me (two seniors) around and react very exuberantly on the leash to other dogs, little kids, and people he knows. This happened even with a nose leader. With Anthony's help we now have a much more manageable dog and a much safer walking experience. Anthony introduced Miles to the training collar he uses and I have to say I think Miles responded to it very well. It clearly does not hurt him but does help him understand much better what's expected of him on the leash, and so has enhanced his comfort level as much as ours. Walks are more fun and less stressful for us all. Hiring Anthony--who's also a very nice guy--was well worth it and I'd recommend him highly.

Balboa's Bed & Biscuit
8640 E Tanque Verde Rd, TucsonMy baby Taro had such a great time here! I boarded him for 7 days and got grooming too. Everyone is so friendly here and so helpful. You can tell the staff here all really love dogs. They do a meet and greet before boarding to get your pup used to the facility and the staff members. Taro loved all of them and he got spoiled with so many treats. The kennels were clean and spacious and you can request more private ones if your dog doesn’t do well with other dogs. The outdoor play area is big and your dog will get plenty of cuddles, butt scratches, and pets! They also did a fantastic job with his bath. My Rottweiler hates baths but he came home smelling so nice and his fur was so soft and fluffy. The staff here are professional and easy to contact by phone and email. I appreciate the photos they sent me when I asked for updates! Highly recommend! And just fyi the turn into the facility is right before the fire station.

Dog Masters Training
3219 E Blacklidge Dr, TucsonWhere to start… I started working with Gene about a year ago and then actually listening to him and implementing his methods maybe six months ago. ? Gene’s approach to dog training blows my mind. I couldn’t fathom training a dog without using treats. I’ve taken my dogs to numerous classes and private lessons and always start with a huge pouch of treats and they fall all over themselves to do what I want… when I have treats. Then I have a food obsessed, overweight pooch who has bonded with the food. Gene didn’t train my dog as much as he taught me how to interact with him from canine, not human, behavioral perspective.I didn't know any of that before Gene, of course, but now it's easy to see. Basically what he did is teach me how to build a trusting relationship with my dog: just me and him. We have developed an amazing connection that I don't think I've had with any dog prior. Using nothing but affection for a reward! I learned I don't have to bribe him; he does whatever I ask (sometimes begrudgingly) and I can reward him with praise. He still gets treat time and his bully sticks and all that, but he looks me in the eye now waiting for direction. He's calm and secure because he knows what he's supposed to be doing and when. He constantly looks to me for direction and is responsive to even hand cues now.Gene will teach you to build the foundation of your relationship with your dog and methods to control negative behaviors WITHOUT the use of food or force. I know, sounds crazy, doesn't it? It's a game changer I wish I'd learned years ago.

Santorini Greek Cafe
2545 E Speedway Blvd #105, TucsonFirst time here and I was really impressed. My husband and I ordered the Special Gyro with lamb, pork belly, and beef steak along with dolmades and baklava. He got a side of French fries and I got the Greek fries. Every part of the meal tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and it was clear from the first bite that they take pride in what they make.
The baklava had the perfect mix of honey, crunch, and sweetness. It is made in house and has a fresh, rich flavor that stands out right away. The dolmades were just as good. I could eat them every day. It is rare to find a place that still makes their appetizers, sauces, desserts, and other items in house, and it really adds to the charm.
The gentleman who took our order was warm and friendly, which made the visit even better. I usually go for lamb skewers when I visit Greek restaurants, but this time I wanted to try their gyro. The pita was cooked to perfection. It was soft and had that fresh dough taste that only comes from bread made in house. The meat was juicy and full of flavor.
Overall, I was very happy with the entire experience from the service to the food. We ordered to go and did not have to wait long. Prices are average for Greek food in the area, and what you get is friendly service, fresh ingredients, and flavorful food.

It reminds me of a quaint diner. You walk up to the counter and order, get a number and sit down. One of the ladies brought us two cups of cucumber infused water and we decided to try the crumb cake which was very tasty…. Had I not already had multiple cups of coffee I would have gone for another to go with the cake as a perfect pairing. I got a biscuit breakfast sandwich and my husband did the Southwest breakfast burrito. Both were very good but the little sliced apples stole the show for me. How come the apples I get at the grocery store don’t taste this sweet and crisp?!? Anyway, it’s obvious why folks like Raptor… good food and wonderful service!

Camino Verde Pet Resort - Dog and Cat Boarding in Valencia Tucson
6030 S Camino Verde, TucsonI have had my dog (a 1 year old husky) stay at Camino a few times now and have been extremely satisfied with the service. They will text me with updates/send pictures of my dog. I had a delay in my travels coming home and they were very accommodating. Friendly staff and you can tell they care about animals. My dog knows where he is at as he always runs to the front of their office door. Thank you to everyone at Camino for taking good care of my boy!

The Pet Cemetery of Tucson
5720 E Glenn St, TucsonI have been to Darla and the staff for 8 of 9 pets. Always felt welcome and loved. The one pet I had to take elsewhere I feel cheated on my feelings and my pet's final hours.
Darla has always been there and recognized our feelings. I do not look forward to any time I have to visit her and would love to be her apprentice and take over for her and show the same compassion as she expresses.
Love you Darla!

PAWSitively CATS
1145 N Woodland Ave, TucsonSuch a great place for cats and so many options if you're looking to adopt. There are so many cats with so many different appearances and personalities, so you are sure to find one who's a good fit if you're looking to adopt.
I came to write a good review and then saw the last unhinged review so this will be longer than originally expected lolz. I was so happy visiting and was able to find my new best friend.
They have a team of volunteers that helps take care of the cats every day. There's a main area where the adoptable cats, which are most of them, can roam free if they want or hang out in their cage or on some of the different cat trees or play with some of the toys around. There are two patios they can go out that goes into an enclosed outdoor area if they want to go outside. The main area has both overhead lighting and windows that let natural light in, as you can probably see from the pictures. Unless you're wearing sunglasses inside, you should be able to see completely clearly. It's not dim at all. The cats in the main area aren't constantly locked in cages, so there are usually a few cats roaming around. Obviously you wouldn't want to let a toddler run around or run blindfolded through the area. If you have peripheral vision, you're vertigo-free, and you have more than a few months of walking experience, though, you would have no reason to worry about tripping or stepping on cats.
There's a separate area for the cats with leukemia, and they also have an enclosed patio they can go out on. Then there's another area for feral cats that get brought in, and they also have their own patio. Sometimes small kittens will be brought in and be in a separate room, or sometimes if a cat really doesn't like being around other cats and tends to start fights, they might get to stay in their own little room there. They take great care of such a wide variety of cats.
Ya there are a lot of cats. That's kinda the point of a cat shelter. It's a volunteer-run non-profit in a residential area, so I doubt that they have a few extra million sitting around to quadruple the space, and I don't know how they could possibly use the space any better than they do. It's not cramped. There's space inside and out that's all being utilized. There also aren't exactly an abundance of openings in bigger shelters, which is why so many of the cats in big shelters end up getting put to sleep. That's why a small local no-kill shelter like this is such a God send.
If you're looking to adopt or even just love cats and are looking for somewhere to volunteer or donate to, this is a GREAT option!!

6401 Marana Center Blvd Suite 902, TucsonWe adopted our two kittens here and the staff were wonderfully! They were so sweet throughout the adoption process and gave us plenty of tips and encouragement. Months later they even helped me know how to care for a found kitten and gave me all the resources I needed to help her be found. They are wonderful people who truly care about animals!

Pima Animal Care Center (Animal Shelter)
4000 N Silverbell Rd, TucsonI adopted my wonderful dog from here and now I'm hoping to foster and advocate for other animals.
The shetler staff and medical staff at PACC are wonderful, compassionate, and incredibly patient despite the overwhelming number of animals they care for every day.
If you’ve ever considered fostering, adopting, volunteering, or donating, I highly recommend supporting PACC. These animals and the people caring for them deserve it.
