This is a fairly small museum, but it is the best preserved/restored of the five presidios I have visited. The docent was friendly and knowledgeable and eager to talk about the place and the history. It was a wonderful way to spend an hour or two.

This place is full of historical information and invaluable insight from members of our community to keep alive the memories of the tragic events that would take place. It's loud when they have the guns and cannons go off, and I would recommend earplugs or noise canceling headphones.

A great place to learn about old Tuscan and it's roots
The Presidio San Agustín del Tucson Museum is a re-creation of the Tucson Presidio built in 1775. Visitors travel back in time to learn about life as early Tucsonans would have lived it. Docent tours discuss life in the Santa Cruz Valley for early Native Americans, Presidio residents and Territorial Period settlers. See the archaeological remains of a pit house, walk along the original Presidio wall and experience a 150 year old classic Sonoran row house.
