7-Eleven Launches Value Menu and Jurassic World Promotion This Summer

The convenience store giant 7-Eleven launched a new Craveables Value Menu, joining the heated battle for budget-conscious shoppers alongside a thrilling partnership with Universal Pictures for "Jurassic World Rebirth."

 

The Irving, Texas-based retailer's value lineup takes direct aim at fast-food chains. Customers can grab three taquitos or roller grill items for $3, including the new Spicy Hot Link Sausage—"a slow-smoked, paprika-packed sausage that delivers a flavorful kick with just the right amount of spice." Five-piece bone-in wings cost $5 in Buffalo, Spicy Breaded, Roasted or Spicy Sweet Chili flavors, while classic glazed donuts ring up at just $1.

The timing couldn't be better, as restaurant food prices climbed 3.8% over the past year, outpacing grocery increases of 2.2%, according to recent Bureau of Labor Statistics data. That's pushing consumers to limit restaurant visits and shrink their spending.

 

"Value messaging has already been out in full force," as competitors like Burger King offer buy-one-get-one Whopper deals and Wendy's runs a 100 Days of Savings promotion. Even &Pizza recently cut prices after customers complained they were too high.

In addition to new value deals, the chain's partnership with "Jurassic World Rebirth" transforms stores into prehistoric playgrounds ahead of the movie's July 2 release. Limited-edition Big Gulp cups feature dinosaurs like the Titanosaurus and Mosasaurus, while special dangler straws shaped like badges add collectible appeal.

 

Slurpee flavors get a cinematic makeover too. Mission: Deep Blue and Mission: Colossal Cherry replace the classic Blue Raspberry and Cherry options, bringing customers "from the c-store aisle to the world of 'Jurassic World Rebirth.'" Exclusive snacks include 7-Select Gummi Dinosaurs and Replenish Blue Raspberry Zero Sugar.

"This summer, we're bringing a new kind of adventure to customers in stores — one where the Slurpee drinks flow, the snacks roar and the dinosaurs rule the snack aisles," said Marissa Jarratt, executive vice president, chief marketing and sustainability officer at 7-Eleven. "Our 'Jurassic World Rebirth' collaboration is a full-blown, snack-fueled adventure for fans of all ages to enjoy."

 

Through July 16, customers can buy two pizza slices and a Big Gulp for $4, with special dinosaur packaging. The 7Collection online store offers exclusive merchandise, while 7Rewards members who purchase 20-ounce Dr Pepper drinks can win daily movie tickets.

 

7-Eleven operates over 13,000 stores across the U.S. and Canada.
