“We live in Westbank, across Okanagan Lake from the Safeway Pharmacy in Kelowna.
We have been using the services of Safeway’s downtown Kelowna Pharmacy since moving to the area in 2010.
Yes, there are many pharmacies on our side of the lake, but the downtown Safeway Pharmacy has served us well. The staff goes out of their way to do all they can to take care of our needs.
Today, for example, I had a new prescription that needed to be filled. Just after leaving my doctor’s office, I called Safeway and asked if they have received the fax from my doctor. The pharmacist checked and the prescription request was there. She checked to see if the medication was on site and said that she would processes the request. It would be available in 30 minutes. As I was in the neighborhood this would save me a trip across the lake.
This is the type of service we have consistently received for the downtown Kelowna Safeway Pharmacy.

“My favorite grocery store in Kelowna. I never get hassled paying with Google Wallet like some of the competitors in this town that impose ridiculously low restrictions on transactions. Strange thing to do in a period of expensive groceries. Some might say this store is more expensive than others judging from some other reviews I have read. Though I don't do much price comparisons, the shopping experience here is superior to most stores, likely worth any premium if any.”
“Such kind people, when I lived up in Glenmore they were my go-to. I loved supporting a small business and everyone knew me by name, and vice vera :) I was actually sad when I had to transfer pharmacies when I moved because I appreciated their care and commitment to above and beyond processing of pharmaceuticals. The young man at the front was always so kind and lighthearted, I appreciated his good mood every time I came in! The older people working in the front seemed to treat me with a bit of prejudice, maybe because I was younger or have tattoos…but I always made and effort to smile and greet them but I never got smiles back unfortunately. Hopefully in the future they can start treating their younger clientele with more fairness (especially if they’re a year-long customer) but the ladies in the back running the pharmacy were so wonderful and treated me with respect and kindness. Regardless of the shift in comfortability whenever an older woman was working even though she’d seen me 20 times before, I still give this place 5 stars because of people like Shannon and Alison in the back, and the kind young man at the front of the store. Also very fast prescription processing!”

“Pharmacy manager Mohamed Hamed Elbaz was rude and arrogant to me. There was a miscommunication with my order over the phone at pickup time. Abdul couldn't help, so Mo interfered and spoke in Arabic language about my account. I asked if they could speak English so I could understand, and he said, "I'm not talking to you," and continued in Arabic. I said, "But you're talking about me and my account." He ignored me and continued. He blamed me for re-ordering from staff on the phone instead of TouchType phone. I have bought from here for decades but must change. All workers that can't clearly communicate in English. I moved my account to Costco now, which is 1/3 the cost. 2 days after posting this, Mohamed called my home, demanding I take this review down. He threatened legal action today. I have launched a complaint with the Colledge of Pharmacists. Update- 1 month later, October 2023, Mohamed no longer works there. Jeff has made good on promised changes, and I have renewed faith.”

“Hello there. I recently shopped at the Rexall Drug store in West Bank BC on highway 97, and it was fantastic! I love this store. It's pretty much got everything a drugstore should have. The staff are extremely friendly, courteous and respectful to everyone. I got a Be Well discount card today for Seniors day (Tuesdays) and saved quite a bit.
The store itself is bright, well organized and Clean! There's an awesome pharmacy that is always reliable.

“I had the most amazing and life changing experience with this pharmacy in February of 2024.
I required a pain medication as life was very difficult for me at the time. After struggling since September with the pain, I was at in a dark headspace.
The owner of this pharmacy did absolutely the best and everything he could to ensure the timeliness of the delivery and the formula of the medication healed that pain within a month of use.
During that difficult time, I really felt hopeful again by seeing the lengths to which one goes to help others and are moved by hearing that others are in pain and they give their 100% to help. That is a healthcare provider at its finest!
