“I've been dealing with this store for about 2 years now.
There's lots of great things to be said, staff are kind and respectful. They help out where ever they can.
The equipment offered is awesome as well as the technology that is incorporated into various aspects of many sports.. for example the foot scanner for skates.

The one area I feel they could be better at is in the custom gear ordering process. I have had a set of leg pads made, and a few months later a new glove and blocker made.

Both orders arrived after quoted times and generally had no information available. No communication with staff unless I reached out, along with discrepancies around status of the order. Another example of this is when I ordered a pair of hockey socks. They said they were back ordered which was fine.

It took 8 months to get the socks in. ?

I reached out to Bauer to figure out what happened.

In the end, I did get both the glove and blocker and leg pads. Took a lot longer than expected.

Delivery time is 6-8 weeks.
I received my leg pads at 10 weeks (not too bad)
I received my glove and blocker at 13/14 weeks. (That's pushing it)

The information I found out from Bauer was that there was a 2.5 week delay from when I paid my deposit to when the set was ordered.

In the end, Zack did apply a credit to my account.
But was not informed about the details of that credit.

Overall, 3.5/4 stars but there is room for improvement.”

I came in with a problem today, and he not only helped me and fixed my problem, but had me leaving with an ear to ear smile. He truly went above and beyond to make my birthday special at Sportchek. “After getting newly prescribed orthotics I travelled from Comox to find a suitable running shoe at this store. Florie spent considerable time in an attempt to accommodate my wide foot. I bought a pair that seemed to work. After a week of inside and outside wear, my feet were in pain. I returned to Florie. She brought out many, many possible shoes. In the end Florie ordered a pair on line. A week later I returned to try on the new shoe. It was wider but did not work with my new orthotic. Florie refunded the cost of the runner. I think this company was more than fair and made an honest effort to meet my needs. Personnel were skilled at fitting and creating options. I hope to return and find a suitable shoe, after another visit to my podiatrist.”
